Another Bent Wheel

Following on from sidekick's bent wheel, I have also managed to bend one of mine.
Admittedly, I was trying to take a faster line through the chicane at Llandow circuit
No suspension damage luckily. But these wheels do seem to be pretty easy to damage. Does anyone know whether this is par for the course with such low profile tyres, or would a change to a stronger wheel prevent this? The standard Noble wheels are pretty expensive (700 quid to replace wheel and tyre

)Not the bus stop, but the chicane at the end of the back straight. The fastest way through is to sort-of straight line it, hopping on the kerbs.
The kerbs are smooth enough, unfortunately the right hand side kerb has a sheer drop down to the grass inside, rather than gravel or concrete. So if your wheel goes too far to the right, you'll hit a right angle chunk of kerb.....
