Has anyone considered it? Can't help finding myself strangely attracted to it.

Probably:

> 480bhp
> 190+mph
> Very Tunable
> 0-60 in 3.5 seconds
> 4WD + lots of technology
> Handling set up on the Ring
> No doubt reliable with a 3 year waranty

All for below a rumoured £60k

Promises to be a great car I think...

i've always been a fan of the skylines - not because of looks. The engines were built to be tuned and can make massive power with very little effort. The gearboxes take the power too.

they do handle like a barge though !

(I have a friend who made 850 bhp in one yikes )

i heard a rumour the new one uses a v6 3.8 based on the 350Z engine (not a straight 6 like the old one)

Almost sounds like what we were promised in the M15.....

Apart form the tuneable bit - apparently it's "optimised" for the power it has and may not take a lot more.
That said noticeably quicker around the 'ring than a 997 turbo...
Off to local Nissan dealer to put down a deposit methinks.

1700kg+ & 4wd & turbos make possibly the least attractive car ever to me.

Have you seen the ring vid? Loads of turn in oversteer to make it round there fast, presumably because if not it is an understeery barge, if they release it like that the average skyline buyer will be in the wall before it is run in, I bet the production version isn't anywhere near as quick round there, just like the standard R33 couldn't match the 7:59 that Nissan claimed.

All sounds promising until you look at the yoke.............................. Think the "3 blind mice" came out of retirement to design it!

Given its weight, I'm surprised the car is that quick, especially on track.

crikey look at the specs !!

"The Nissan GT-R will go toe-to-toe with the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and Porsche 911 Turbo. The GT-R's twin-turbo V6 gives it a startling 0 to 60 mph time of near 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 192 mph. That V6 cranks out 473 hp and 433 lb-ft of torque, driving all four wheels through a rear-mounted transaxle. In between is a GR6 dual-clutch six-speed automatic you can operate via paddles on the steering wheel.

Base price is expected to be less than $80,000."

Nick - when are you off to put your deposit down - i think i'm gonna have to do it too !!

right what colour are you going to get - can't get the same colour!

(there is a 350Z in the states that made over 1000 hp at the wheels !)

Just didn't get around to placing a deposit today - didn't get around to the GT3 either. Says something great about the Noble. :-)
Then again it's only a couple of £000 to put down.
Maybe after I take the Noble for its estimate tomorrow.

I'm sure with all the trick diffs etc that it can be driven like that relatively safely. Too heavy though frown

Blimey 8,347,500 yen = £35K !!!
And that's for the "GT-R Premium edition transmission"
Sounds like it could be worth a punt at that money.
I'm not a big fan of rice burners but this sounds tempting (could lose a little flab though)

Expect it to be 60k when it arrives here. Were it only 35k I'd buy one regardless I think wink

When you step back and think about it, its crazy that Nissan apparently think they can charge more for this than an e92 m3. For some reason the mags compare to a 911 turbo when the m3 is a much more obvious comparison imho.

It's a small refridgerated "cup holder" made specifically to hold a can of Red Bull (for long journeys)
