How do you get the silver dash panel off?

Looking to fit a AEM Boost Controller and wondered how the existing silver panel comes off.

Anyone done it?

I'd rather take the engine out, There are four studs on the inside with nuts on them, you have to lay on the floor upside down and fiddle your arms in and undo the nuts.

Like the others I think I'd rather eat broken glass.
One things for sure once you have it out I bet you don't fix it back using the same fixings,
Someone on the group just used a couple of bolts/screws through the front to hold theirs in place.

Agree with others - try to fit the switch elsewhere or perhaps try to utilise the spare switch if you can get to the cable (without removing the panel).

Ok think I will switch to plan B then and use an Apexi AVCR or HKS EVC 6 in front of the silver bit.

Why would you use an EVC rather than getting it mapped properly? Ive used EVC's and FCon's on a jap car to minipulate the ecu signals, effectively as a clever bleed valve but why would you bother?

It's been properly mapped at Roush. This is all part of an upgrade plan. Bigger intercooler, hybrid turbos etc etc.

Take the point though. It's not high on the list, but does give a few tricks hat mapping wont so is useful in these respects.

The other option for removing the panel, is to use a dremel and cut the plastic around the start button(hand sized hole) then it is easy to remove the facia, then replace with a new facia that covers the whole front. Looks better IMO and then a lot easier to remove(as you can use different fixings. I have a template for a full cover panel if you want to borrow it.

If you pm me with your details i will stick it in the post.
It is just an MDF template with the holes for the heater controls and the twin gauges(boost and oil)
so for other lights/switches etc you will have to add them.
I am adding a small screen(Linked to a reversing camera and maybe my video camera) and using savage warning lights and switches as they are far better looking than the standard ones, and as they are led lit they are all the same brightness, also means I get rid of the very cheap looking richbrooke start button.

I am going for a "bare screen" so it will look more OEM.
Might wander down there at the weekend and fight the stupid traffic to get parked. See if it will mount ok. The Bare screen is around £70+ vat. plus has the opition for more than one input.

I've put an AEM tru-boost in mine.
The most difficult bit of the whole thing was getting the panel off !
I araldited some nuts on the back of the dash and bolted it back on so it's easier to get off next time !
