OK, I'm sure that this has been done to death, but here goes.
I am looking to upgrade my Gearbox/Diff combo if it turns out I need a new clutch.
So I am looking for some advise about which way to go.
I am sure that I will be adding the LSD, but am undecided about the 6speed box. I do not want the upheaval of the M400 linkage, so I'll be giving that a miss.
Is the 6speed worth it over the 5speed LSD combo. How likely is it that my 5 speed will die in due course, or is it safe under 400BHP.

Cheers

Also changing to the 6 spd is still a lot of work. One thing that has to be done is either dent the fuel tank or remove it and get it cut and re welded to make room.

As Gadge says put a strengthened 5spd in.

Also as mentioned on a previous thread, you don't have to take the engine out you can remove a cross bar and re-weld it or as some guys have done, create a bracket and bolt it back in. Should save near on a grand in cost.
