water in footwell advice needed

was wondering has anybody else had a problem with getting a wet carpet in there footwell down by the pedals ifso any advice gratefully recieved thanks jerrie

if coolant probably heater matrix

mine leaked there. turned out to be a crack in the sealant around the windscreen. Are any Nobles 100% water tight?

if just rain water drill hole in floor

Most likely coming from water seeping through aluminium floor rivets. They weren't brilliant and corrode. This pulls the ali from the floor frame allowing the ingress of water. If this is the case you need to drill out the rivets, remove ali panel/sealant and replace with appropraite new rivets. Messy and time consuming!

Liking the wellies guys

Mine leaked through the floor, I resealed the floor and fitted new rivets, job done! I would recommend doing all the floor edges to stop it happening again.

LOL! Doesn't sound like it. The windscreen is a possibility though. If it's come in during driving then it's probably a leaky undertray. I've managed to fix that with some sealant in the small gaps underneath, but it also leaks when standing outside and the nose is pointing slightly uphill. If I turn her around on the drive so she's pointing slightly down there's no leak. Must be encouraging the water to take a different route away from the car. I've re-sealed the wheel arch to no avail so I'll check the windscreen next. Thanks for the tip.

i am not a builder but i am fairly sure it would be easier to find where the water is coming in than to buid a garage to keep the car in the dry

nobleguy that sounds very familiar to mine when i lifted the front up it seemed to be very wet around the outside wall of the footwell where the chassis meets it will try parking down hill and see what happens thanks again guys

HEHE, agree totally, much easier to build a garage than find leaks in a "canoe". Mine also got the wettest standing still with the nose in the air. Tour it around and half the problem went. Mine has one of those aftermarket upper trays over the bottles. Alot of water would sit on that and cause some of the problem too.

I've also found water sits in the undertray at the front and that stones clog up the holes drilled into it, I'm assuming to let the water drain out.

yeah i had that, looked like to stones came from a trip to the kitty litter by a previous owner lol.

hoover got them all out though and it hasnt filled up since

LOL! Hoovered mine on the Sunday a few months back, drove it to the shops and back and found a stone had got in and bunged it up again. Doh! maybe a planet-sized hole would help, but I'm assuming the undertray is partly there to protect some of the bits and pieces.
