I really badly need to adjust my handbrake today and just wanted to know what it the best way to do it. I know that there is a access plate behind the passenger seat to get through to the handbrake locknuts, is this the only place where I need to make the adjustment?

I have never tried to adjust it but i thought there was adjustment screws/bolts behind the rear wheels itself.

Pad adjusters behind holes in drum, knurled spiggot, i would back off the cable inside the car and then adjust the shoes, however from experience i would strip both by removing the callipers and discs and then inspect the shoes, adjusters and drums/discs. When re-assembling adjust the shoes and make sure you can make both sides lock up before doing the cable.
