Money to burn!
Discussion
Gentlemen,
May I distract you from the other 'rather lively' thread on our beloved Noble forum and ask your advice on the the following mods I'm contemplating, all well trodden ground I'm sure but a lot less contentious for sure.......!
Exhausts, I'm considering splashing out on a Rousch exhaust (unless there's a better quality/performance option, discuss?) and the associated fuel pump upgrade. I spoke to Plans MS today so am aware of costs, but...
What performance benefits can I expect?
What's the benefit of the ceramic coated option?
What remapping work is required / recommended / is it needed?
Is it worth it?!
I'm taking it for granted that Plans is a reputable outfit that will cherish my pride and joy!? anything I should know about within the rules of the forum?
Also on my list of stuff is sorting out the rear light clusters - is it still possible to get hold of the Marcos derived units and if so where from?
That's it for now, everything else on the car is perfect IMO!
As always thanks for any light you can shed on the above.
Cheers,
Simon

If not I would suggest that before getting the lights or zorst. No good getting extra power, only to lose it again as soon as the IC gets hot.
Ceramic coating drops the heat the exhaust gives out...as for helping manage the heat in the engine bay, you have 2 turbos and manifolds that are a far greater heat source.
But if you decide on going for the Roush exhaust, the extra £200ish for the Cam coat is not a lot considering the total fitted price (less than 10%), so silly not to have it. All IMO.

Less heat in engine bay....definatly worth it!Simon BB said:

Get Trevor and his laptop to sort it out!Simon BB said:

Yes, more power, more drivable above 4000rpm, sounds better, looks better, won't rust, won't break (chocolate bracket)! If money and time is no object i would be getting teh Hoover (US) upgraded exhaust. In my mind it looks stunning, and the quality looks better than Rousch (from pics only). If money was an object i would go with the H and S adn dyno before and after to disprove the neysayers (flame suit on :P).
Upgraded wiring a definate and for the cost might as well have the pump too.
Intercooler and possibly radiator upgrades should be done first, and maybe a set of turbo blankets? May lose some life out the turbos but reduced under clam heat would be welcome.
Upgraded braking probably need to go on the list after that
Not sure if this is a 12 or 400 but how about gear linkages too as this could potentially speed up all trackdays/juurneys.

[quote=T&T]I chased marco's a couple of months ago for an update on the TSO lights, and they were still "awaiting supplies"
Has anyone had anymore up-to-date news ?
the noblemods one's are another alternative...

Marcos are full of S
T. I've been on to them since last Christmas for some TSO lights and it's always the same story they are due in next week BLAH.BLAH.BLAH!
I reckon they haven't got the funds to get a job lot made.
You've got more chance of finding rocking horse pooh on your shoes than getting those lights.

I got a Roush zorst done because they were able to turn the car around inside a week from my enquiry.May I distract you from the other 'rather lively' thread on our beloved Noble forum and ask your advice on the the following mods I'm contemplating, all well trodden ground I'm sure but a lot less contentious for sure.......!

It is a good improvement over standard but I would have gone to Haywood & Scott as it is the same system in essence and costs less than half the price.
You would probably benefit more from having the Geometry sorted first, possibly AP grooved brakes and if you have the dosh get the uprights machined for camber adjustment (Plans can arrange this).
My 400 has been transformed handling wise and it doesn't eat the tyres any more!
I have a duel fan assisted deeper core intercooler fitted and to be honest I can't tell the difference between this and the standard set-up.

I'd appreciate it if you could visit and find out how serious they are about getting some more made..
How p1ssed off would you be if you had your marcos rear ended and it was off the road for a year awaiting parts...
I need to sort out some repacements , as i'm getting bored with all the stick the mondeo units generate...
