Well after three TVR's I have finally decided to cross from the other side.... I've just bought the cleanest 3R i've ever seen.

I will post piccies when i pick it up in a couple of weeks, but expect a fair bit of posting as I love my british sportscars and I am a serial fiddler (of cars that is).

I also run a business which makes carbonfibre parts so expect to see a number of mods coming out in the near future and if anyone wants something in particular please ask and we will do some investigations/costings and see if their is any interst.

Dont think that will be too difficult. The existing wing is a thing of halfords beauty!

I have already been asked to look at making a (sectional) splitter so that when you whack it you can just replace the section in question.

I agree on the drink thing. I'm on the suffolk/norfolk border so what about meeting in Stratford St Mary or somewhere middling or my dark norfolk ale house is pretty good if you fancy a run out?

I am happy to take requests but we will be feasibility studying them before we move to any production stage. Having said that the requests so far seem fairly obvious. It's just checking demand for the product.

So far I have got:

1) New rear wing with Esprit type look
2) New rear diffuser
3) New design of front splitter

plus I have been asked offline to look at some other bits and pieces for a well known Noble tuning/aftermarket company so I expect they will appear on here as well.

If you check my previous posts you will see I have made a number of parts for TVR's in autoclaved carbon.

You will have to wait until November for them as the manufacturer gets a superduper big autoclave then!!!!!!!

bet they would be heavier than the GRP ones due to re-inforcment needed. the skyline ones were heavier by quite a bit. evo as well i think

Thanks Sean.

I'm excited about getting it as it's absolutely mint (not a single mark or stone chip) and I have a few plans lined up for it already.

I agree the carbon ones could work out heavier, but we will look later in the year. I think the price might be the deciding factor.

CF dash would be very nice. Maybe modded so you can mount air vents in the centre console as well.
Also the facia that houses the AC, turbo gauge etc. Made in CF but full height to meet up with the tunnel.

The dash we are looking at as it's a fairly obvious moulding to make and could look very classy.

The interiors seem the weak spot in these cars so some effort spent here seems prudent. I will see if I can get hold of a spare dashboard moulding to get a cost from. Anyone know of any? Same goes for splitters etc.

If not I will end up taking mine apart and I haven't even picked it up yet.........

why would autoclaved , pre preg carbon fibre parts ,Clams etc (presumably with honeycomb ) be heavier that GRP . I would have thought that they would be SUBSTANTIALLY lighter ?

Carbonfibre is strong but needs reinforcement or box sections if it is to become structural in any way.

With careful design a clam could be made considerably lighter thn the GRP equivalent but the costs of R&D would be high and development protracted.

I am not saying we can't do it, but I want to bite off what i can chew to start with.

p.s. cant do sunday as doing the Seal thing at Blakeney
