ECU and boost pressure
Discussion
Hi,
Finally got around to connecting the laptop up and have come up with a couple of questions....
1/ Is there a way of getting a real time view of boost pressure. Don't want to change, I just suspect the accuracy of the gauge. (I have access to easimap 5 and the most powerful profile.)
2/ Anybody running a GTO 3 map that is later than T Jasper - Roush - 30/11/03 ?
Cheers,
Rob

Be very, very careful
Make sure that you have the correct lead with resistors fitted otherwise you could damage your ECU.
Also you will need to use the correct configuration files for the MBE 975 ECU (975ab240.ec2) I don't think that these are available with the MBE software as standard.
Without the correct config file you could erase your ECU...

I was particularly paranoid and splashed out on the proper £40 cable as I didn't want to take any chances, even though people have connected using the normal cable. I assumed if I wasn't changing anything then I would be ok. Do you know that to be incorrect (you are correct I don't have that file) ?
Cheers,
Rob.

I cant remember off hand in which menu it is bit you can add manifold pressure to the desk top to view it in real time or you can do a 'logging' type thing where you choose the parameters you want ie boost pressure and intake temps etc then record them when you drive the car in graphical form.
I get my car back tomorrow morning so will be able to help you a bit better then if you still cant find it.
Without the mapping password I dont think you can change the map so as long as you dont export it to a file on your PC you shouldnt damage it.
Steve
oh yea ! I found the 992ab94f ecu to be the nearest to a noble one !

Thanks for that, I think the bit I missed was Manifold pressure = boost pressure. Will have a look tomorrow when the wine is not overriding my cautious gene.

I don't have the correct config file for the ECU.
The standard config files that come with the Esimap software are for the MBE 941, 967, 970, 992, 995 and 998 but not for the 975. The addressing of the ECU parameters appear to be different, therefore you will be able to see some parameters but not all, i.e only one lambda sensor etc. I previously used the 992 profile.
You can view and log the parameters available, with the correct user profile you can even back up your ECU, but don't try to modify or write anything back as it will erase your ECU.
