Does anyone else have this problem ?
This weekend I went away in the Nob. It stayed on my mates drive, in the rain, for a couple of night. On sunday morning I started the journey home and after 10 miles it started mis-firing. I carried on for about another 4 miles, stopped, turned the ignition off and waited about 5 minutes. It then ran fine for then next 70 miles and started again. The second time I stopped after a few more miles and I came to park it sounded like it was running on 4 cylinders. Again, after a few minutes, started it up and away it went, no problem at all.
THis is the 3rd time it's done this since I've had it and each time it's bee either parked in the rain or I've been a bit hose-happy in the engine bay. It must be water getting somewhere, maybe onto the ECU connections ?

Exactly that mate. I ground to a halt on the M1 due to a similar problem
There's no easy way to sort it other than unplugging every plug you can find and giving the contacts a squirt of duck oil or WD. Make sure you also take of the cover in front of the right rear wheel (where the ecu is) and give that a good check too. Where possible also check everything is securely zip tied up out of the way of everyhing else.
After trying all the plugs round the top, I finally found mine behind said cover. Water in the main ecu plug where a tie had come loose and it was sitting in the tray. No problems since
