I am just in the process of Buying my first (2nd hand)Noble M12 GTO 3R
I had a test drive @ "Dove House Motors" in Rushen (Northants) on Saturday,
not the best weather for a test drive, but yes I was suitably impressed.

Firstly the one thing that worries me is the Service & everyday maintainance
of such a specialist car.

I live in Leeds (West Yorkshire) so can anyone of you guys help me with
an address/tele no for someone local to me who could carry out this work.
As luck would have it the speedo stopped working half way through the test drive,
if you see what I mean, I don't want to have a 300 miles journey to have
this fixed, after all its a (53) reg car not (07) if you know what I mean.

Secondly has anyone had dealings with "Dove House Motors" before, they seem
very nice, but you never know.

I await any replies, before I can make my mind up.

THANK YOU TO YOU ALL IT WILL BE MOST APPRECIATED

Hi mate,

I don't live near you so unable to help with an address for servicing. There are a few guys on here that can help but I think they are all at Donnington today!!

I relation to the cost of servicing, most people budget around £2000 per year. I have had a GTO-3 for a year and have paid £500 for a service which included a new ball joint and have had to replace a lambda sensor. So all in all a cheap year and plenty of happy miles .

Some people on here have had problems. A well sorted 3r should be fine as it has the LSD and 6 speed box.

These are fantastic cars and I can't see anything else giving you such a raw bang for buck experience as the Noble!!

I will not be selling mine for a long time yet.

Good luck.

James

I live in Leeds so I am happy to have a chat with you.

In my opinion, there is no one in Leeds, however, an hour down the motorway and bingo, the guys that developed the first engine are there.

email me and we can chat.

The speedo issue was caused by driving it in the wet, it is probably ok, I know how to fix it smile

RE the speedo, as ash says, is just normally caused by a connector getting wet. Nothing to be worried about. Just an inconvenience. It can be easily sorted. I found Noble Motorsport (as above, who helped develop the lumps) very friendly when i took my car there to get the idle sorted out. NOt the cheapest but what is cheap these days. I think Dove HOuse are a reputable company. If i had my time again i would definately have bought from them. Good luck, and try not to get tempted by an M400 wink

The Dove House chaps are a great bunch. Owned by a Mr Mark Beeston who is often on PH and is a nice chap.

You'll have no worries buying from there.

You do need to be the type to be able to live with the odd niggle if you're going to get a noble, like with any hand built low volume car, there will be problems, but the trick is to live with them and get them all sorted at a twice annual tune up/service.

Hey Carl, long time no speak. Have you sourced a replacement for your sadly bent one now. I notice on your 'my cars' section you show a 3R as current. If so where are the pics?? Mind you they may have been posted and I missed them, getting old you know!! wink Hows Bev? All good I hope.

Take care

Peter

Hi Peter - Bev's fine thank you - still not got a replacement yet (car, not Bev, mmmm now there's a thought? scratchchin). That's the reason we were down at Dove House at the weekend.

Got a couple more to look at so hopefully may be back in the fold shortly.smile
