Anybody got experience of getting a slightly kerbed rear wheel repaired? If so any news on cost, timescale and results?

The two I have had experience of are:

www.spitandpolish.co.uk/refinishing.htm

They do a very nice job indeed, however I honestly believe these guys do an astonishing job:

www.nbizz.com/alloywheelrefurbishers.co.uk/page1.html

Pristine are a little more expensive, but are definitely top quality.

I used a company called "Wicked Wheels" to repair 2 scuffed alloys on a BMW I used to have. After they'd finished you couldn't tell them from new. All the main dealers seem to use them to repair wheels on their part-ex stock and they offer a mobile service to your door. More info at www.wicked-wheels.co.uk. Hope this helps.

With all of these recommendations how long have the wheels lasted - I ask because sometimes with the people that Surbiton Tyres uses for refurbs they look great on delivery but after a few months unsightly corrosion appears around the rim - and these were previously untouched original Merc AMG alloys - I sent one wheel back twice and then gave up ('cause I have to drive around on a silly skinny wheel up to 50Mmph while waiting!!!

After having 2 wheels repaired by Wicked Wheels (front and a rear O/S), I put about 30K miles on the car before selling it. There was no noticable deterioration in the finish during this period (about 15 months). They were cleaned usually every other week using (typically) Autoglym alloy wheel cleaner with occasional cleaning using white spirit to get rid of tar spots. Overall, very pleased with the longevity of the results.

Thanks, will log "Wicked Wheels" for future ref.

Hmmm, well am closer but what a task (I'd be useless in a sweet shop with a pocket full of cash!!!) Down to Titanium Silver (others are/were?: larch silver or metallic green!) as for inside the "office" - I've asked for suitable leather swatches from Bridge of Weir leather co. (they supply Noble, etc.). Not even sure whether to go two-tone at all but looked in my Merc brochure (it shows recommended/complinentary colours) so maybe mid grey with black seat inserts or dark grey dark blue inserts?!

Am looking to get to the factory on 10th June to decide on all the details - hopefully they will have enough examples lined up to enable me to choose?!

As you can see I still need help!

Cheers.

hi spoke to John at the factory today he reckons titanium silver is the most popular and that it will have the best resale value. apparently my dealer(williams) tells me they have changed the supplier of the interior and therefore the colour swatches that they had at the show, so there maybe a bit more choice.

You are most correct! That line-up of Titanium GTO-3Rs did do it for me - the decision was made - that nose is superb - a very powerful photo!

They look awesome

Rob, If you are going for titanium silver body colour, wait till you get the swatches from Bridge of Wear. There are about 6 different grey tones to go with black leather and they will all look really cool. There is even a Mercedes Grey (CL74). Great Re-Sale value also. But then, you wouldn't sell it would you?

...I hope not - but just covering my a** (wallet!) by making it attractive (ie: not offensive!) to sell just in case!

I'm not sure anyone else has had my colours but everyone who looks at the car likes it.
I have Lotus Azure blue for paint (very similar to the noble one but deaper and richer with a slight purple tinge to it in the sunlight). Seats are black leather around the surround/outside and blue alcantara on centre/cushion again the doors are half black leather and half alcantara.

Guy?, can you be more specific on your interior - are the seats all black apart from just the base cushion centre strip being in blue alcantara? How are the doors black and alcantara - ie: where des the change occur?

I must say that I generally prefer all leather as I feel it is easier to slide across than alcantara - do you agree? Rob.

I will have to take a picture maybe and post it but basically the bit you sit on/lean on is alcantara and the outside edges - ie the bucket part is leather and then on the doors there are three panels the centre part which surrounds the door closing handle (not the lever to open it with) is alcantara and so are the map pockets. Hope that makes sense.
