Non member hire rates aren't bad actually! Try before yuouyou buy and all that.
The Fully comp insurance isn't. A knock will cost you the deposit. The terms and conditions are a nightmare. They want you to give up your passport or both parts of your driving licence While you hire (both illegal I'm pretty sure).
F.C.
Also, if you did 175 miles in your day (which only lasts 21 hours btw) it would cost you £350 extra on top of the £525 it cost you to hire the gallardo!!! Not cheap at all!
For £250 less than that you can do the Palmer-sport day at Bedford in all manner of awesome cars inc. a JP1 and an F3 race car!
Same deal as the track hire cars I've been looking into........
They look good value at 1st, but when you add in all the extra costs and the fact that you still need to book and pay for the TDay yourself, you're looking at about £850 for a day in book-a-track's 150bhp caterham!!
Now thats about £200 more than it caost to do a Tday in my Noble even when you add in all the ownership costs and divide by 10 tdays a year!

This is why I'm seriously thinking about getting a track car instead of the Noble. (or as well as )
Just trying to work out what to get. (new thread to follow)

Cheap Track Car Hire - I found this company when a friend was looking to hire a track car for a day at Bedford. They offer fully prep'd 205s and were suprisingly cheap - from £200 to £300 a day IIRC.

Greg, I may have mis-read your post, but the price for the BaT Cat hire is inclusive of the price of the trackday. So for Snet on the 18th July its £670. Not £670 + £175 for the trackday. Now thats about £200 more than it caost to do a Tday in my Noble even when you add in all the ownership costs and divide by 10 tdays a year!

However the prices for caterham hire does seem to have gone up. £1210 for Donny GP
. I'm sure its never been that expensive. For that you could buy my car and pay for the trackday, and have change left for one of Donningtons finest bacon butties
.I'm thinking a VX220 Turbo with a stage 3 upgrade.
Thats 270-300bhp, milteck zorst, RR session, charge cooler, pace intercooler, LSD, light wheels spoiler etc etc.
I think they look ok, will give the same performance as the Noble on track, give or take and more importantly, will cost very much less to track a lot.
Now, having sold the X5 and bought the Audi, I have £20k in my pocket, so, do I just buy a trackday car and get the Noble looking mint and give up on tracking it, or sell up, get the tday car and start saving for a Lambo?

I'm planning to build a BMW track car that I can potentially race in the future.Thats 270-300bhp, milteck zorst, RR session, charge cooler, pace intercooler, LSD, light wheels spoiler etc etc.

Of course if you'd kept the X5 you could have bought this :

Not sure about VX turbos. Never seemed to really take off on trackdays. Think maybe the handling is a bit unresolved?
