Noble - misfiring under load...
Discussion
Hi folks
My brother recently bought a 2003 Noble GT-R. Fine yock she is too!!!
Sometimes (not always), the car will have trouble idling and also when accelerating hard it will "misfire".
Some people say that water might have got into the fuel tank (especially after a wash) due to the position of the fuel cap.
Anybody any similar problems? Anyone know what causes this?
Cheers

My car does the same when accelerating hard on the motorway its like the engine stalls for a split second then goes like stink, I have checked breather hoses, cleaned butterfly, changed temp sensor, spark plugs e.t.c has gone in this morning anyway so will let you know what it could be.

I assume it's a 3R?
If it is, as people say, idle and breather problems can be down to beather (see here http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... dirty plugs / wrong gap. Very rarely it can one of the mini-coils that sit on top of the plugs breaking down as well.

if its a 2.5 then it will have a set of leads and a coil that they all plug into
if its a 3.0 it will have a coil on plug set up and the coil is actually attached to the top of the spark plug
if you get water dripping into the rear clam it can make the coil(s) very damp and this can cause a problem
i suggest you take them out and see if there is water in there
the other possibility is that the car is exceeding the boost limit and the ecu is shutting the car down momentarily
