JTLPK - my fully upgraded car will be ready next week. Factory have been great about things post Brunters, and all is happy.

Due to going a bit mad though I've had to wait for the 6 speed box (it was all getting tooooo expensive ), but it will have LSD, new 2.5l fully upgraded engine, 3.0l style exhausts and the trackday sump.

Now I've just got to tell Nick about the cost

Trackday anyone???

Are the new exhausts louder than the standard 2.5s??? And is the power/torque increase worth the cash (i.e. how much power/torque )

I'm happy with mine but it's a bit quiet at low revs (apart from insane turbo whistles / dump valving) - and it resonates like a bastard at 80 mph on the motorway.

This may be the induction rather than the exhaust but it's interesting that a different exhaust is available for the 2.5 cars....

Yep - they give (apparently) the same "rumble" as the 3.0l cars do, and also allow things to breath a bit easier - important if you want to keep on tweaking things.

I'll happily demonstrate it when it's back - I'll be at the next SE London TVRCC meet if you want to pop down.

I'm actually constructing my own exhaust that will be hopefully even more free flowing and will be slightly different in that it will have a variable baffle so that I can turn up and down the noise when I like! The only other redeeming feature will be that the pipes are going to be centre exit (just to look different) - about 2 inches either side of the towing loop. I'll report back when I have completed the task. I need to find someone to to do some good welding! I pretty much have all the parts I need just need sticking together.

You mean your using some catering size coffee tins welded together for 'max' effect.

FYI Factory one is around £900 fitted if your not having anything else done to the car - sounds a lot but they are hardly volume these things!

I feel an interesting side line here!!!! but seriously I have not tried it yet and therefore I don't know what it will sound like - it might well be too loud in which case I will change the silencer on it. But projected cost should be around 250 UKP for the parts and then a bit of hacksaw work required and then probably about hours professional welding which I think might be around 100 UKP. So yes it could be replicated but let me try mine out first.
Oh and by the way I have designed it so that it's very easy to put the old exhuast back in with the minimal of fuss (10 minute job)- it may well be too loud for track days.

Hmmmm

I'm in a bit of a quandry at the moment as i want the 6 speed box, sump, twin exhaust, forged pistons and MORE power However with a GTC on order and no idea whether it is 6 or 18 months away i can't really justify the expense.

I guess if Noble acknowledge that the GTC is a long way off i will take the plunge on the existing car....

It's a tough life

You can buy the std exhaust for the 3L and have it fitted to the 2.5l

I myself was also wondering whether to have all that work done 6SP+LSD+Forgded pistons.and loads more power. Lee said you wouldn't get much change from 10k. Last time I spoke to him. Anyway I might see him tmrw so I ask him again if he has time.

That would be excellent Guy. Try and find out if we're talking nearer 400, in which case it's a no brainer for me.

My "feel" is that the GTC will be at least 12 months away....... No real reason just I get the impression the massive orderbank for the 3R will keep them busy for "quite some time"...

Looks like I'll have to 'borrow' your Noble then.
