I have just been told that the Corsa is no more!

What the hell do we do now!

The Noble M400 was designed on P Zero Corsa, can't see that Bridgestone will do the job.

I have been offered some Vredestein, 99 for the front and 120 for the rear, seems a bit too inexpensive to me.

You sure? i got a quote from Elite in Rainham a few weeks ago, no problem.

I use 888's on the Renault and they are very good.

Gave me a quick price of £199/front £234/rear ( all plus vat and postage) Give them a call.

I had an interesting argument with my local Kwik Fit last year, they were offering 25% off of all tyres so i called them and said id like a ste of Corsa's, they told me they were no longer in production therefore they could'nt supply. I got a set the next day prom Performance Tyres in Bishops Stortford. I think if tyre suppliers dont want to supply they say not made anymore.

I had same problem about 6 months ago - it transpired that Pirelli were swoppping manufaturing sites of the Corsas so availability was a tad low for a time. Most tyre shops just said they were no longer being made. I guess it will be true at some stage

So, I am taking her down to Roush to have the ballanced, on three wheels.

I will be the fastest 3 wheeler in the world.

Its time to replace my tyres now and my dilemma is A048, R888 or the Corsa motorsports ?
I use the 048 on my evo and love them but killed the fronts in 500 miles but that included 100 track day miles !
Has any one any advice on the others ?

I am going to try the R888's next, found the corsa's very good but with a saving of around £250 per set I think the R888's have to be worth a try.
Steve not sure if you have a M400 but if you dont, with r compound tyres on standard M12 suspension set up you will be hitting the bumpstops ( unless you drive like a girl on track)
Also you need to pop into the TR forum as someone needs your email addy to send you some info on the Paris run.

Not sure R888s will suit. They have very stiff sidewalls and were really designed around heavy jap racing saloons apparently. I run them on my GT3, but even their, the strength of the sidewalls means I need a different setup with less camber to other trackday tyres.

Then again maybe that will be good on an m400. Ride will almost certainly suffer though and pressures will most likely need to be higher than with the corsas. If run at the same pressure as corsas on a GT3 the inside shoulder disintegrates in a potentially dangerous fashion!

I needed a 295/30/19 Rosso (after 2k miles and 2 nails ) and all ATS could get was corsas!

Decided against running on 3 rosso's and a corsa

I think that they can't be bothered to help me out.

The Vredestein offering was Alba tyres, he said it was their budget option, I think he expected me to bite his hand off. Then I said it was a Noble, I mentioned Yoko's and Toyos, he said they are the cheap option and I should go for the Vs. What a joke.

He obviously knows his stuff.

And they are on the Pirelli web site as a specialist!

I have the M400 suspension fitted to my 3R by the factory so hoping I wont find the bump stops !
The 048's are the only tyre so far on my evo (with coilovers etc)not to roll onto the tyre wall when pushed hard on the track and road but I dont think the 3R will quite do the same thing ?
How long do the Corsas take to warm up on the road under normal driving conditions ?

They take forever to warm up, but once they are, the grip is fantastic.

I am thinking A048s if I can't get the Corsas.

I have heard that these Verdestien tyres you speak of are supposed to be very good and very cheap, but I've no idea about them on a Noble. Think I was looking for the 330Ci I had.

I've run 048's and they are awesome. Grip like Polar Bears claws!

You do hit the bump stops a little on normal 3R sus. but I didn't find that a huge problem TBH. (maybe I drive like a girl on track!)

In the wet, any of these "semi-slicks" are a bit of a handful and really not for the faint hearted. You need to be pretty competant at catching sliders if you're going to give it any beans in the rain!

The US forums are worth reading up about this. Although they don't take wet conditions into account as much.

Hmmmm, i just had two rear Corsas fitted yesterday Ash, they are on back order with Pirelli to most outlets but i didnt hear that they were no longer making them,Scotts of Northampton wanted £209 per tyre for 295/30 zr18 N6's ,Porsche Silverstone wanted £325 per tyre...yeah right

The Toyos warm up very quickly which is a positive. Also given that they don't like too much camber they may work well with the m400 setup on track, where I believe people often wished for more camber with the corsas.

Worth a punt I guess as they are significantly cheaper than other R tyres, at least in GT3 sizes.

If you want some give Steve @ simplytyres a ring (you'll have to google) as his prices are spot on as is his service.

For pure road driving I don't see much point in R tyres. They wear quicker, won't ever warm up properly and offer you grip that can only be exploited at levels of commitment that don't have much place on a public road. Oh and they are poor in standing water.

Also i had a quote for the fronts yeaterday while my rears were being fitted....no probs...perhaps up North they are still more used to solid tyres for a Horse and Cart ?
