Car wont start
Discussion
The honeymoon is officially over now. Anyone have any ideas as to why "it" wont start? details are. alarm active, press fob, alarm deactivates, into car, key in ignition, turn to on, fule pump primes, turn to start and nothing. turn off, turn on, fule pump primes, press srart button, nothing...
Feels like an alarm issue to me, but i am not sure as i have no idea what bit of circuit it cuts out. lights work, stereo etc so its not battery. Worked fine on Sunday so god knows whats upset it from then to now.
Any help appreciated, otherwise it can be loaded onto a truck and took taken somewhere to be looked at. Supposed to have a track/airfield day on fri too

Found 4 fuses under the clam behind drivers position. cleaned up the contacts, seem okay.
When i try to start i get fuel gauge on, temp on, battery on and oil on. when i flip the key they stay lit, its not trying to start. does seem to be alarm related. hope i am not gonna miss my track day on friday as well

Thanks mate, you did give me that contact no before when i wanted the front calm wired into the alarm. Will have to call tomorrow now, already late for work. sure its something silly, thought at first the inertia switch had got tripped, but the pumps running, doh! Logic to me says if i drove it to where its now parked up on sunday and come tuesday it wont fire it kinda has to point to alarm/immobiliser. this is payback for the car i sold on sunday breaking down on its new owner (burst coolant pipe). Anyone watch My name is Earl? Karma

I used an AutoWatch alarm spacialist to fix a problem I had - might be worth a call for some help in resetting the alarm? Alan Smith - Mobile: 07836 239543 / Tel: 01494 512922
Spoke to Alan today, nice chap. He said to me that he thought it was unlikely to be immobiliser related as he had never had one of these systems go wrong like that.
Spoke to the last owner who suggested checking the power to the starter. I will try this tomorrow, but not sure how i can crank it over AND look at the multimeter
I cannot remember off hand, is the starter relay listed/shown in the owners handbook?ajg31 said:

Okay, why didnt i think of this? i can use a jump lead to go from battery to the starter and pop, off she goes.
So can only be fuse, relay or broken wire
i have checked the 4 fuses on the RHS of the engine near the chassis and they are not blown. I can see 3 or 4 relays on the bulkhead directly behind the drivers seat area but i dont know what they are for.
Happy i can fire it up, but trailing wires not the best solution, haha.
So where is the relay to fire up the starter? Thanks

Now ran a cable from the 2nd relay behind the drivers seat IIRC to the starter motor and it fires every time. Will get someone to look at it next week, but at least i can get to carlimits tomorrow and enjoy the weekend in it

Have fun, Andy Walsh is very good, i also heard a rumour on Seloc that he has a Noble now as well.
