Bye Bye Noble!
Discussion
Just had the service and roush exhaust, brake ccooling mod, new brakes, air con service and a good few other things sorted, hat came to 5k.
Now its going in for groved discs all round, front end respray, full wheel refurb, possibly an M400 linkage and a few other tweaks.
Should be another 3k, but then it'll be a well sorted car again and better than anything else out there for 39k!! (32k worth of car and 7k worth of spending)
I was thinking of getting something else, but nothing else in the world at sub 40k floated my boat so I'm keeping her.

I had new pads but that proved that I needed new discs too. Real bad judder.
Kerridged have found me grooved discs front and iirc rears too!
The wheels are being done by Kerridges folks who have been doing them since they were first put on the 3r's. They seem pretty confident they can sort them so I'll trust the dealer.
Should look spiffing again in a week or 2.

Kerridges can get grooved discs? How much more do they work out than the standard ones? It would be good to get mine changed as my car is now suffering from pretty bad judder as well.
What have they said they are going to do to your wheels? I asked them to do mine a while back and was a little surprised to find that all they did was paint the rim...

I met the wheel chaps. Its usually only the rim which needs sorting as its not painted as standard. The spokes are fine and don't corrode. Once the rim is painted they should be set for life. (if kept clean)
They said they could acid dip mine as they are in a right stste and whoever recently serviced my car has left rather a lot of dings and knocks on them!
This will melt the bolts, but I think they'll look ok without. May look into finding some black (or silver) nylon bolts that are a little smaller and I can glue in. I'll see how they look.
The discs I think are the AP ones and are about £50 more than the OEM ones. Not sure about the rears, but Kerridges seem to think they have found rears that'll fit. I'll let you know when I get mine back.

I'm interested in the slotted disks, esp. the rears. Are you sure they are not just slotted for fronts only?
What pads are you using? And related to the previous question - why have you added modifications for brake cooling?

Brake cooling was done just to be safe really, I do get them fading on track after about 4 laps of Bedford, cooling should help.
The brakes have always been a weak link for me.
Give David Foster a ring at Kerridges, sure you know him.
I'm going to swop my brand new DS2500's I think for Mintex 1144's which are less aggressive but also less dusty and corrosive to the wheels.
Washy swears by the Mintex F2R's and F4R's, he ran them and said they are awesome.
It may just be a run-out issue on my car, hopefully Kerridges' dial guage will show any run out on the hubs fie there is any and the new discs will give me the great brakes that the car should have had since the day I bought it.
They're fine on the road up till recently with this judder but have always been annoying on track, braking hard from 70+ has always induces serious s/wheel AND bum judder. (meaning there is an issue with the fronts and rears! It may have been partly due to just having clogged up holes in the drilled discs, but I've got a feeling it may be a hub missallignment thing.

Does sound like hub runout too to get such judder. Thought Gizard had the grooved fronts, cannot remember him having the rears as well. About £700 for the fronts, does that sound right? I wanted to change the pads to EBC yellowstuff "spec R", about £90, so a cheaper pad than some of you use. Not sure if anyone has tried them before, but for £90 can always change them back
who is painting the car? Like the rear diffuser and front splitter doing as well as the front clam

They rears only fit on the older M12 models, not mine. eg. Paul C has them fitted.
