Intercoolers (Again Sorry)
Discussion
I have this one (Noble M12 intercooler upgrade) - www.proalloy.co.uk/cgi-bin/shopwise.pl?act=sect&pt=52&s=325&id=proalloy
The picture shows it fitted on on Adrian's car.
I'll only know in the summer if it works 100% but so far I've had no noticeable heat soak issues when racing.
AFAIK this is the best one available.

With no fans surely it will heat soak in non race conditions... eg, traffic.
Not sure how it can be said to be better than the Noblemods race IC, has that been tested along side the pro alloy one?? I am pretty sure Graham has not sold/lent one that has been tested by roush.
Not saying either is better, just slightly mis-leading saying on this forum it is better, due to testing ( also I am sure lots of companies selling a product will say theirs is the best and THEIR test prove it!!)

For clarification mine has 2 fans on it and they run all the time unless I remove their in-line fuse.
I have no experience of the Noblemods IC but I do have experience of the PA IC that so far works well on a car in race conditions with at times, higher inlet temperatures than standard.
I'm simply recommending the one that I know works rather than the one I haven't tested, hence the "AFAIK" bit in my post.
I've no vested interest in anyone buying any particular brand of IC.
I hope that's clear.

Richard, my comments were more directed at Adrian's post, saying it HAS been tested against the NM one and is better.
Hi all,
Couple of questions on this.....
1/ How easy is the pro alloy one to fit, easy DIY Job ?
2/ Do you need to do anything to the maps to make them work optimally. (Have seen something on the US site about making things run leaner)
3/ Anybody had experience of what insurance companies make of them (preferably MSM)
Cheers,
Rob.

1. Dunno - someone else fitted it.
2. In my case Trevor said it didn't need a remap, but I've got a totally different map and Mountune engine. Best to ask Trevor.
3. You just tell the insurance company the truth and with the 3 companies I've used it's not a problem. None were MSM though.

Are you going to have to go for a CC to maintain your 600 bhp

I Hope Not, i suppose i'll find when it warms up, went to Pace to talk about CC before we spoke to PA but Pace wanted me to fund the development and then let them sell it...er no. The core in Pauls is the one i tested in the summer so we know it works well.
Regarding the I/C I remember in the summer i got some petrol and left the data logger on, Trevor might still have the file, i think it was 5 minutes, 25c ambient and the core temp only went up by 5 degrees(no fans)that convinced us it was a big jump forward.

The Proally unit must be better than the Faulks one as i bought the Faulks IC off Adrian as he was 'upgrading' to the Proally one! - he wouldn't down-grade!!!
If you put them next to each other you can see how much deeper and bigger the Proally one is; better in my opinion.

I give up!!
The NobleMods Race IC is not the old FP core...do your homework, there is more than one product out there.
