There's a new clutch in town.

The standard Noble clutch is ok, but to be honest, one of the weak points of the transmission (now that gearboxes can be made stronger and have oil cooling). At last there's an alternative, from Roush.



Rated to take 500ft/lbs, it should cut down on the nasty acrid smells nicely!

Ill let you know, but it is a paddle clutch with hard springs so i expect it to be a bit stiffer.

Also alot more "on/off" feeling too if it is a paddle clutch.

Paddles are a pain in the arse for normal driving, dont envy you in traffic jams on a hill!!
Looks a nice bit of kit though.

thats a standard issue paddle clutch - been about in the industry for many many many years

I have one on another car and its not much fun in traffic - but you do get used to it

you will find the one fitted to the Focus RS may be a direct fit

And whare are you going to get one that can take 500 ftlbs of torque plus a tolorance with a progressive feel, oh single plate 9 1/4 inch.

When you find one can you tell all the clutch manufacturers they got it wrong

i know several clutch manufacturers that build clutches to any spec you want (within reason)

a popular model in the cosworth world is a 6 paddle alcon with a standard (yes standard !! ) ford pressure plate - big bhp and torque not an issue
