I've had the Noble for a while now and have not been able to get round to getting it on the Dyno till today

it is only holding 0.5 bar (7 psi) so i expected it to be a little bit down on power

however - was quite pleased with the result

however not so pleased with the fuelling - it could be a bit richer

How about driving it up here for a comparison run on my dyno Mike? I can't seem to get hold of you on your phone and have left a couple of answerphone messages now.

I thought you did them in 4th gear but yours says 3rd. I assume that's because it's a 6 speed box ?

Julian - I might be coming to visit you sooner than you think !!

Snuffy - the nobles actually make more power in 3rd (sometimes 4th on a 6 speed) than they do in any other gear - more power is transmitted to the wheels in this gear

I was under the impression 4th was used because the gear ratio is 1:1 in 4th. Have I been misinformed ?

is it a misconception, why confused.
I understood if a car could (i.e. not too high a speed to overspeed the rollers) it should be run in the direct gear, normally 4th, to avoid any torque multiplier factor the gearing may have confused

simple really - the gearbox has higher losses when it is working harder

1st the gearbox is spinning fast and loosing more power
2nd similar to 1st
3rd (sometimes 4th on a 6 speed) the least losses
4th more losses
5th more losses
6th more losses

just test the car on the Dyno and see which gear the most power is made at the wheels
