M15 or 997 Gt3 rs ?

What wud u go for between an M15 or 997Gt3 rs or maybe even R8? Now im not using my 996 GT3 a lot i was thinking about a change to something faster after Le Mans this year (well i owe what ive already got a trip there and back b4 i change it), havent driven any of them , has anyone else? I suppose the R8 will be rarer than rocking horse poo for some time too, or the darkhorse Gallardo snipping in at under 80k if u know where u looking.I would imagine the 997 to be most reliable as these machines go but i was wondering what everyone opinions were? There is of course another option, giving up on cars altogether and using my fiat punto around town until i move, i must admit ive enjoyed the £10 per week fuel bill, quite a novelty !

Until we know what the final incarnation of the M15 will be its hard to say.
It needs a V8 and a minimum of 500 ponies to really compete in the current competition.
I would say a Gallardo at under 75k would be the best bet, but then you like Parkers Chris, so the new GT3RS would be your best bet I would say.

Well I have got a 997 GT3 coming in May (hopefully) I couldn't justify the extra cash for the RS all you get is a dodgy paint job wider arches and about 2 seconds a lap at the Ring (suposedly)
Not so sure about the Audi build quality...
And agree with the Noble - I would be really hacked off by now if I had a deposit down on one - and nearly need on the lauch day of the M14 I was on the phone to the factory for another reason and they offered me a place at the front of the queue I thought about it and said no thanks.
Anyway I could probably sell the GT3 in a year or two and buy a second hand M15 that will have depreciated far more than the GT3....

RS apparantly . Or alternatively, keep the Punto for tootling around town and spend £9k (perhaps 12mths ownership & depreciation costs on the Lambo?) on an Ecurie 25 5000mile membership and drive all these

Wizzie, I had a bit of a natter with the guy down at sixfields about the R8. They will be getting a demonstrator so i think me and thee need to make a visit
I've got to admit though, I think the performance figures on the R8 are a tad dissapointing. M15 vagueness aside, it's 997 GT3RS all the way in that choice
Saw a silver 997 GT3 RS for the first time today (parked near Castle Sports cars in Stansted Mountfitchet).
What an awsome looking machine. One of the only times I have thought 'damn, that is gorgeous' about a Porsche. (apart from that Electric Blue one that was parked just up past all the Nobles at Le Mans last year, for those who saw it).
Doesn't really answer your question though. Just flick a coin to choose. It's much simpler then comparing numbers.

I think to be honest for me it would be a 997 gt3 rs in green with black decals, fantastic ! i am going to have a look into but it wont be for a bit yet if at all as im considering moving abroad in which case id be trading up to a speed boat !!!!! However if i do stay in uk and get a new house with a garage i think thats what i would like to see sitting in it....for the next 30 years, its iconic like the original and i dont think u wud ever get bored of something like that...makes the 996 seem tame

Can't agree, I found the Gallardo ultimatly dissapointing when I had one for 3 days and 100's of miles in many different conditions recently. I think the orange with black detailing is a much better colour combo on the 997 GT3 RS.

Given the number of cars I've decided I don't want to purchase due to those wonderful peeps at Ecurie, it's worth it's cost twice over to get the choice right! I'm also debating with ecurie if it's worth having more than one main car on my P&L anymore....

As to the R8, I don't really see that as a credible alternative to a 911 if you are actually into driving rather than having the latest shiney toy.
Isnt the R8 around £20K cheaper than the GT3RS ?
