Nero might let you do it. I'm not sure, I'm always converting the other way.

Take a copy, post it to me and I'll encode it and stick it up on nobletv.co.uk if you like.

Bondy – good call, but I'm not sure Nero will let you do this - mine won't, it just copies DVD to DVD or burns DVD from video.

Mike - I use a package called Ulead Videostudio 10 Plus, you can download it online for ($100) here. One of it's features will let you import a DVD as a video file and reformat it. For good results streaming over the web, I would save it as a DV file, then take it into Windows Movie Maker and save it as Video for Broadband (512kbps).

Or you could just send it to Joust

hehe Have you managed to get it off the DVD into video format then? Roughly how long is the video?

Just coppy the DVD and post it to Justin. If your PC isn't a top spec it will struggle to convert. I'm sure Justin's is well equiped for video editing.

Mine often takes ages.

it looks like Nero will copy it to mp4 - but after converting 175 mb, it struggles to read the disk and crashes

i have got 175 mb of it done if somebody wants to host it etc

Maybe worth copying the data onto the PC under a folder called video_ts (Nero may only notice folder that have that name), then try and convert it again.

Check out www.download.com and search for a DVD ripper. They should convery from DVD to whatever you chose.

They are normally free. Not sure how you compress the file but it needn't be as large as it is.

Actually you could probably just search for a ripper on Google.
