Idle Rev problem

[M400UK]

I haven't driven my car for a few days, took it out today and it keeps stalling in traffic, fires back up again perfect and does the same thing when I come to a standstill down the road. Whilst cruising it doesn't do it, only when in traffic or at the lights.
Also when the fans kick in noticed that the revs drop right down to about 600rpm. Has anyone else had this problem or know what could be causing it?

My car had the exact same symptoms. Every time I slowed down to come to a standstill, it stalled. It wasn't very funny when I got to a roundabout on my way to turn left...car stalled and lost power steering with me heading straight for a ditch. The handbrake had never been so useful!

Gary and his electrician sorted it all out with a new battery, some kind of new wiring for the fuel pump, new fuel pump and some other bits. Not sure which one single thing was responsible for the symptoms. If you call him up, I'm sure he would remember.

Check the vacum hoses that run around from the inlet manifold (thin black tubes) and that the 'elbow' joint isn't pushed in too far nor fallen off.

If it's not that then could be a dodgy lamda sensor, that will make the idle upset, and finally could be an air leak from a turbo gasket.

Any main dealer, Roush etc. should easily be able to find the cause.
