Hi everybody I am a newbie here and am just feeling my way around.
I have an M400, far too early to assess the car as a whole; all I know is I've done less than a hundred miles in it and had it "sideways on" a few times. So it's tall gear light foot for a bit while I get used to it.
On to topic.
Has anyone fitted an HID conversion to their cars dipped beam?
Or has anyone found the lights on thier own car lacking?
Any tips tricks web links greatfully recieved.
Regards,
F.C.

Welcome FC! Light foot and tall gear are exactly what is required in an M400 in current conditions. When the roads heat up - it is quite a different proposition and one which usually requires surgery to remove the fixed grin.
Yes, headlights are crap. Even replacing the bulbs for 'brighter'/higher output ones is a mission (involving cutting/re-sealing). Havn't bothered, myself as I don't do an awful lot of driving in the dark, but I'm sure there'll be plenty of good advice/suggestions coming your way from others on this forum.

One or two of the US owners have fitted xenon lights.

Try looking it up over on the www.nobleforums.com site in the US. They tend to "play" with their cars a bit more over there.

I had some superbright bulbs fitted to mine and had the beams raised up a few mm and it made a huge difference.

One must be rather careful driving on corsa's at this time of year!!

Nice of you to say wavey

Apparently raising the light beam up helps (as its very low on the road to start with) - but that still involves a minor operation!

Yes, it's a common complaint. They aren't actually all that bad, but if you also drive a typical production car with xenon lights it does make the noble's light look pretty weedy.

I've fitted some PIA bulbs to mine, and they seem to make the difference. Not cheap, but I think they are worth it.

Thanks for the feedback.
I took the LHS cover/pod off yesterday for a butchers.
not too much hassle (seven screws and a bit of sillicone sealant).
I have been spoilt by the likes of my last few cars I think.
I agree the beams are set a bit low from the factory. probably because of the hassle to correct a "high beam" after the engines have been fitted over here.
What motors have been fitted in the USA?

I think they are set low on purpose - once the rear tyres wear down a bit it lifts 'em up. Set them right on new rear tyres and within 2-3000 miles you'll have people flashing you all the time.

Edited to say, this was always a problem on my Tuscan

Your bulbs may be different though.

If you go through the trouble, 50w HID ballasts are probably a better bet than the normal 35w, since it gives you about 5200 lumens instead of 3200. Of course, check with your local laws.
