I had the perfect(ish) weekend last week - wifey went to see her friend in Sussex where we've just moved from, so I thought with the sparkling sunshine I'd clean the car up and explore some new routes around Milton Keynes. Saturday was absolutely great, then on Sunday I had another great day's driving, until right at the end of the day I managed to clip a kurb on a narrow corner on a back road. The damage isn't too severe, but the rear passenger side wheel has a lovely serated portion which looks like a bite has been taken out of it, and it's ever so slightly dented outwards. Also, the tyre has a small flap hanging of it on the tyre wall - it's not gone through to the canvas but is obviously in need of replacement.

So, questions:
Is there any general consensus on the tyre situation? I know this has been done to death recently but it seems that each time it's discussed there are a load of different options put forward. I won't be tracking the car and I'm mindful of the fact that some people have mentioned some tyre makes are a bit dodgy when cold and/or wet.

Is the P0 Corsa the way to go?

Also, I've noticed that the paint work is showing (very slight) signs of scratching here and there - is there a place other than the factory that I can get a pot of touch-up (any alternative remedy suggestions would be very welcome).

P0 Rossos - love them more the more I use them.

Any of the chip away franchise type operations can do you a pot of paint - after they've repaired the bits you need repairing - they're usually good value too

Peter, I have one almost new S03 if you are only wanting to change one tyre. I changed both my rear's, but one failed after about 2 weeks (side wall failure).

I could not get hold of another S03 so I went for the PO Roso's on the rear. I still have the S03's on the front and the car is handling fine. It seem's to tram line a little more than before but that's all. The combination also seems to be working well on track.

I was one of the ones doing it to death earlier.

I would avoid all the corsa, 048, R888 type tyres if you don't plan on tracking it. Thats what they are all for.


I have just ordered a set of P Zero Rosso's too. After a lot of reserach and conversation with Micknall, I'm pretty sure they are the best "normal" tyre for us. (and they are standard fitment on many supercars and tasty motors)

What I meant was P Zero Rosso's, not P0 Corsa!
Sorry for the 'fusion....

I think both rears are getting near to the end of their lives anyway, so I think a pair of Rosso's is the way to go, especially as this is what's on the front.
