I have a 2.5 with an MBE ECU and an over boost controller [OBC]. Having an OBC, I understand that it may have had a power upgrade, as they were non-standard on 2.5's. There is no record of a power upgrade in the service history. The factory have no record of the MBE, or a power upgrade, only of a re-map they did in 2004.

I had the OBC disconnected because I was concerned about the boost levels - it was boosting up to 1.5 then would drop back to 0.7. I want to get the OBC re-connected, have the MBE map checked (or changed) and get the boost operating at safe levels, which I am led to believe are not over 1.0 bar.

Where is the best place to get this done?

Humpy - your car ran lean when it was on the overboost

I suggest you think about getting an uprated fuel pump - then get it back on the dyno to see if it is still lean

then take it from there

drop me a line if you want to discuss this further

hope this helps

I'm in the process of ordering a pump [M400] with a wiring mod kit. I'll get this fitted when the sump is done and then see about the map check and OBC reconnection. We can have a chat about it at the owner's day.
