leak rear window area.

Any one else had this problem?
With the recent heavy rain had the alacantra under the rear window getting very wet.
I have tried sealing externally with some silicon sealant but if anything it has made the situation worse,tonight the area was very wet.
Externally on the rear window seal it looked like there was a small crack, so that was well sealed up.
Internally it looks like the water pools just on the internal rubber .
So, is it easy to remove the internal rubber and attack the window there with sealant, probably easier to make it look a good job than messing about the exterior?
Any other ideas?

Mine did the the same thing - leaking behind on the driver's side. I got the glass man out under my insurance policy. He removed the rubber seal and refitted/resealed it in 30 mins - presto!
I wouldn't suggest DIY unless you have the correct tools and knowledge.

Can't remember but whichever windscreen your insurance co. uses will be able to do it - I was surprised they did it for a leak and on the rear but it didnt seem to be a problem. Just get the number from your insurers (should have been provided when you took out the policy) and call them direct (say it leaks and creaks and look like it'll fall out any minute when you go over bumps)!
Well just had the windsceen man out.
Very interesting conversation as I was watching him do the job.
As he was trying to take out the rear screen and one of the rear quarter screens they just about fell out.
It turns out when the glass was fitted originally they were supposed to be primed to enable the glue/sealant to stay adhered.After time if not done this just falls off the glass which is what was happening.And it was very obvious where they were leaking.
So job done now, he said guarrantied not to leak.A fairly quick job too, even with the half hour talking about the car and pretty reasonable at £94 all in.
