Oh. My. God.
I went to the Cambridge Se7ens pub meetup last night and Jim Noble had brought his week-old GTO3 for everyone to coo over. He was giving passenger rides and I managed to blag one. I'm pleased to say it truly lived up to my high expectations.
Still being run in so 4k rev limit but boy can that car pull. I've passengered in all sorts of nice cars but this really does feel special. Bags of torque brought the car so effortlessly to [cough] National Speed Limit up a country lane I couldn't help grinning and laughing.
Oh, and that noise! Gorgeous bassy powerful roar with chattering and whooshing turbos - heavenly. It sounded just like a video game it was so smooth. The soundtrack combined with the raked windscreen and low seating made it feel like I was in a real GT racer.
The cockpit was very comfortable and refined, easy to hold a conversation and the seats and harnesses were great. Not a single rattle or squeak to be heard, even going over a level crossing. Going round a roundabout twice at [speed] was effortless, and the car still had plenty more to give, changing direction on exiting the roundabout made my car feel like it's got suspension made out of fruit cake and custard.
I want one. I can't afford one.
After the Noble, my car felt and sounded like a Vauxhall Chevette with Jimmy Saville in the back seat jingle-jangling his jewellery.
Anyway, thanks Jim!
