When I was caught speeding last year (not in the Noble) in Yorkshire I was denied all access to the video evidence before and after I had pleaded, and before and after the case was heard in court. I've dug around generally since then and found that I should have been given access to this in the earliest stages of the case as soon as I had asked for it.

My concern is that without the video, I still don't know if they even pointed the device at me, or at a car coming the other way, a car that had gone past 5 minutes before, or a bird 50ft in the air. The distance at which they caught me was also suspisciously far away - 601.8m - the maximum dstance is 609m. Just to see, I parked the car and walked back 600m - it was really a pretty small target to hit with a laser device.

Has anyone else experienced this, and is it legal for them to deny the video (and any other) evidence?
Thanks for any input.

P.S. I WAS speeding and I'm not expecting sympathy - just hard facts. Thanks.

SO does this mean that basicaly the CPS has lied to me throughout and has broke the Human Rights Act?
If so, what can I do really? Sue them, get the video (if it shows subsequently that the police didn't get a good reading does this mean the case can be overturned)?

I would just love to know how they got me from so far away....

If the correct procedure hasn't been followed then yes, the conviction could be overturned.

Consult a lawyer if you decide you want to do anything, and whilst you'll get your 3 points and £60 back, is it worth it?

I was done about two years ago............wait for it............56 in a 50 on a dual carridgway. I asked to see the speed reading and some proof that it was me, they refused.

Hand held gun in a line of traffic, pleaded not guilty as i didnt think i was speeding.
In court the two coppers contradicted themselves several times as to who held the gun, where it was pointing and how faw away i was.

Verdict Guilty, reason given was "the police officers were using the home office approved equipement and had been correctly traned" £800 please and three points.

A very good lawyer advised me not to appeal unless i wanted to risk £5000.

If the police say you did it................you did it, in Essex anyway.

This is what a lawyer told me would happen. Crazy isn't it?
And they expect us to embrace their safety campaigns?!?!?
