Just a top up for those following the insurance costs
Just renewed my M12 GTO 2.5 for 7,000 mile limited fully comp insurance including 9yrs NCD protected, full legal and spare car cover. No track days.
I'm 37 and live in the countryside.
no claims or convictions.
car stored on premises (not garaged).
One fault claim just over 3 years ago.
£400 total compulsary excess, £50 windscreen excess.
Cheapest was found by A-plan (who advertise on here) - £830. (Tesco renewal was 947 on fully comparable basis).Elephant cover both my other cars (online arm of admiral) but would not cover the noble.
Not bad for a supercar

Yep that sounds pretty good and about right.
I've just renewed my insurance - the most competitive I could find was with A'Plan also:
36 years old, limited to 5k miles a year, GTO3R, garaged etc with £350 excess and 6 years NCD - £830
Like you say, not bad for a supercar..... but my Griff 500 renewal for the year (ok not as fast but still group 20) was £307!!
Cheers,
Si

I'm 29 and have 2 claims and 8 points and have just had to pay £1500 (with 4 trackdays)
Thats double what I paid last year!
Was not a happy bunny!
Maybe you need to call around more. You should be able to get it for about £600 or less with your profile. Thats for limited milage but they never seem to check it.

I've phoned all the usual suspects, Tesco, Direct Line, etc etc etc. The best quote was from Cheam Insurance with a 7000 mile limit and £1000 excess which was £932!!! A Plan wanted £1300
I do wonder if its an insurance company ploy as they all show my address as North Humberside, which doesn't exist! As opposed to East Riding of Yorkshire which does! However thats probably wrong as they tend to work on postcodes.
Must be 'cos its new. I can't think of any other reason it would be so steep!

Value north of 50K will make all the difference I reckon.
Figures. Mind you if it is ever off the road I get a free courtesy car!! Of similar stature and performance
In addition anyone who isn't family can drive it with my permission fully comp!
Now I've just got to keep my soon to be son in law out of it!!

Ressurecting this old thread, any of you have advice (except for slow down
) for drivers that have a far from clean license (6 points current, 7 week suspension and 6 points in last 5 years). A GTO-3 not garaged with 30k value is looking to set me back about £2400, £200 more than a Tivver 350 and £1000 more than my current car. Priviledge would only have cost me £1400 with 2 claims, or £800 with clean. Damn my stupidity

It's that time of year ago for me as well. Today online a tried Tesco's DirectLine and Privilege. Now, looking at their sites and the questions asked it's as plain as a pike staff that all 3 are the same company, but they don't give the same prices. My quotes were :
Tesco : £987
Direct Line : £822
Privilege : £738
I also tried confused.com who cam up with... wait for it... £1748
Look's like I shall be contining with Classic Line on an agreed value policy which does not require any NCD. They are a fraction more than Privilege but when you call them they are very efficent and I can understand what they say, which cannot be said about most insurance companies with call centers in India. You get what yopu pay for and it's not always about who's gives the lowest price.

My mistake....thought it didn't seem right. With voluntary £500 xs, comes down to £413. Includes cover when driving in the EU, so first visit to Le Mans looks v. likely this year at Chez Brian, 3/4 hr from circuit.
