Is less than one quarter of one percent (that's 0.0024 better) than a Noble M15. The Stig's figures not mine. So its official.
I mean the resources those companies have and they can hardly beat "two men in a shed in Leicester". With all their manpower, their government funding of goodness knows how much and all they've got is 1/4 of a measley one percent.

Precisely. The 360CS (the best sounding car in de world IMO) and the GT3RS (a fantastic car)are honed down, lighter, more driver focused than their more standard sister models. In other words the best driving experience these makers are able to produce. I discount the super expensive Enzo and Carrera GT simply because the rules of manufacture have changed for these and a few other cars. Cost is almost no object for these models, meaning that the end price to the consumer is of far less concern than it would be to Ferrari and Porsche for the CS and GT3RS where there is competition to be considered, as indeed it would be for everyone at Barwell.
The point being that the M15 can be directly compared in performance and handling terms with the driver focused models from Ferrari and Porsche rather than the standard models from these two. That makes the M15, in relative terms, an even better value car. And the irony is, the M15 is supposed to be the GT, not the track car.
If the M15 turns out to be a reliable car I believe other car makers will have a problem.

Don't forget the M400 did 1:22.2 with an error from the Stig (potentialy a 1:21). Although I do believe a Ferrari et al are better overall packages in terms of refinement, Noble does offer a cheap(ish) alternative for people like me to drive like a lunatic and not become near-bankrupt at each service.
Problem as I see it however, is that the guy who can afford £120,000 on an F430, etc. won't be swayed by a cheaper option (even if it is quicker and drives better). We shall see tho....

If you've got a 430 I'd imagine you got multiple cars, and hence it's not about stepping down, it's about does it offer a different experience for the money. Also, having driven both my M400 and M15 back to back down the same roads I can tell you I personally would be 'quicker' in the M15 on the road. The M15 has far better road manners than the M400 without any of those 'ohmygod' moments as the track biased suspension behaves on off-camber multi-surface road changes.

Ferrari also takes it one step further, with the straight 360 Challenge, which would be about 2500-2600 lbs, better suspension, and faster gearbox. Granted, its not street legal, but amazingly fast. If Noble came out with an M15"CS" (street legal) I'd be all over it.
