FP BOV fitted, - hissing sound (and a non-M15 post!)

Hi all
Ive just finished fitting a FP IC and BOV. After fitting, the first thing I noticed is a new loud hissing/whine when the turbo's boost. No loss of pressure, just a loud whine. Is this normal, or a faulty BOV.
Should I open the BOV is it's not normal?
Car goes fine, and I can live with the new sound - just want peace of mind. The car was checked over by my mechanic.

Ian,
Mail me your number in SA and I'll give you a call to run through some things. You shouldn't have a whine but at the same time there is nothing in/on the IC or BOV that would cause this - any fault with the BOV would show up symptoms along the lines of a vacuum leak which your mechanic would have spotted.
