Noble pics in Car!

The Car magazine comparison was between Corvette Z06 and Noble M400. The text eulogises (mostly) about the M400, but lo and behold, all the pictures in that article are of a 3R – lack of side-pods is a bit of a give away, but the rear 3q shot showing a 3R badge (for those in the know) is a clincher.
There is a comment on being hot inside the car because the car has no air-conditioning –flick eyes right to full page picture showing heater switch dialled fully round to cold and little yellow air-con light glowing manfully (similar to the first pic you showed above)...woops!
So are we to believe the text and they really did so a direct head to head comparison of the Z06 with a M400 in the US or was the author just having a larf sat in a pub in Criklewood Green? Perhaps it was a direct comparison of a Z06 vs a 3R (seems most likely from the pics) and the model number was just swapped in the text to make it a more topical comparison once EVO's version was published??
Whatever, it dosn't help car mag credibility. Maybe I should ask Mr. Barlow to explain.

as he want's more work! But would be interesting to find out. You do come across such a load of b***ocks in these mags. They were great pics though, no problem there..
As Matt says in the thread in the Photography forum, he did the photos some time ago (October). It's not unusal (and in my new world of Sky, seems almost the rule) that the article and the photos/video are done completly separatly.
If you notice the car in the studio of Top Gear is hardly ever the car they have driven in the article - why, because there can be months between the two!
Hence I wouldn't be at all surprised if the article was written a few weeks ago, and the pics were taken 6 months ago.

I have no problem with difference in timings of shots vs article, but usually the pictures match the article (as per TG) In this case they don't, so you have to ask the question -is the article just a load of ol' tosh, because the piccies clearly are of a 3R not of an M400.

The point is that perhaps they didn't do a comparison of an M400 vs Z06 wehen they said that they did. If they had access to one -why not photograph it?

I have suspended disbelief several times over, but still have a hard time understanding what is so difficult about getting 2 cars and 1 camera together? They claimed to have tested the M400 vs Z06 in Chicago together. Patently, that is not the case- the shots are of a 3R and Z06. So are we to believe they had the 2 cars (M400 and Z06) together in Chicago for a head to head (the M400 without air-con, of course) but couldn't find a camera? Then aftewards, they found a camera and shot piccies of a passing 3R?? As I said before they're just having a larf.
But, Joust, I do admire your loyalty to the establishment.

...or in this case, not very carefully scripted. Which is my main point - for this particular article you are left not knowing whether to believe the text or the pictures, or indeed, neither; whether it was a genuine head to head in Chicago (which is what it was advertised as) or just a compilation of some pub gossip. I see it as plain sloppy journalism and incompetent editorship, but if nobody really cares and pulls them up, I suspect the car mags will continue just taking us for a ride...
