Installing M400 (Sparco Roadster 2) seats in a 3R

Hello from the colonies.

I'm trying to put these bad boys in, but the brackets are entirely different. Paul C., I know you have new seats, what did you use? I think most are side mount like this one.

I also want to have seat height as low as possible. Thanks.

AFAIK the M400 seats won't fit the 3R because of width issues. The central tunnel is marginally narrower in the M400 cf the 3R to allow for the Sparco seats. If you can get a narrower seat then I don't see a problem -it is easy enough to drill holes for new seat supports if the new seat dosn't fit the existing ones (which it almost certainly won't!)

I sat in a 3R at brands that had been fitted with M400 seats, and lovely it was too!! Fit straight in!! (apparently)

Personally not sure its worth the best part of a grand though, and most interiors won't match up.

On the M400 the tunnel is reduced in width so the seat can be positioned better, this allows it line up better with the pedals rather than the GT0 offset position.

I think this is true of 3R's after a certain build number as well. Don't know what that number is BTW.

Thanks guys. It looks like it will just need a custom bracket and it should fit. I'll post my results regardless.

Hey guys. I have not yet fitted my car with the new seats. However, I have confirmed from our importer (1G Racing) that the do in fact fit. They had replaced the seats for a customer's 3R a few weeks ago.

It would be interesting to find out what build number in the 3R series adopted the first nwrrower tunnel.

I bet it's not as simple as that. There's probably a period when both were being produced. Only real way to know is either measure or see if you have more steering lock....

I don't think so Rob...mine was a kind of pre-production test to see if it could be done (I think)
