im probably the only one, but i think that the rear lights on the noble look bloody ugly, well maybe not bloody ugly but i dont think that they suit the car, the look as though they are from a mondeo from around 1995.
i think that the car is awesome, but i have just always thought that the rear lights let the back of the car down. my friend recently pointed me towards the american version, with different rear lights, and i think these suit the car much better.
on first look i thought that they had red indicators, like a lot of the american cars, but it appears that the indicator housing is below the break light in a thin strip, whereas on the english lights the indicator is above the brake lights.
i was just curious as to whether this change in lights requires much modification, as the indicators appear to be in different locations. or whether its just a simple job of changing the lights and plugging in, which kind of makes my whole post redundant, anyways be nice to know a little bit more about the lights and what any of you noble owners think about them!
cheers

Rob - no you're not alone in thinking the rear Mondeo lights arn't the cutting edge of motor design, but to be honest, most folk just ignore them (after all you can't see them when driving, and other motorists get only the shortest of glimpses as the Noble flys by). For those who can't abide them there are aftermarket LED options (jusr search afterburners on the Noble forum if you want to see them) costing around £400-600 and mostly involving some modification of bodywork around the rear lisght cluster.
Have a look at www.noblemods.co.uk. Those tail-blaizers are the biz. No body mods required and cheaper than afterburners.

Rob,
The US lights are from a Hyundai Sonata. The thin strip of clear below the red is for the back-up lights. The brake and turn signal lights are in the red portion. Here is a close-up picture of them.

FYI, the rear 'clamshell' on US cars is a different design to that on UK Nobles to accommodate the larger rear light clusters. These lights are fitted to US-spec cars to comply with local vehicle-testing regulations.
In short, whether you love 'em or hate 'em, the lights we fit to our cars comply with UK SVA standards. If you wanted the US lights, it means a new rear clam, and even then I'm not sure how legal they are in the UK...

Here are the tailblazers for comparison. I prefer them on the 2.5s because they match the lights at the front.

They are Hyundai Sonata ones! - not sure how much they cost as spairs from a UK Hyundai dealer.
These photos borrowed from the following link show the US lights "on" from the rear and side (posted as I don'r recall seeing them in night mode before!)...
