Followed the links and what a beauty. Since I was a nipper I've always dreamed of owning a Pantera and I see a bit of the Pantera GTO ni the Noble. Its a mighty fine looking car. Got my heart set on a Cerbie but they are in a similar price bracket. It's the exhaust note that does it for me. Was behind a Cerbie the other day Central London..lost the plot slightly trying to get the blokes attention to increase the volume at the lights. My day will come.

Thanks for the kind words. There is more on my web site that I've just put up today (www.lotus-elise.org.uk/noble/)

If you want to know what a Noble sounds like from the *inside* check out these two links...

230Kbps (Broadband)
www.lotus-elise.org.uk/m12/Noble%20-%203%20gears%20high.WMV

100Kbps (Dual ISDN or similar)
www.lotus-elise.org.uk/m12/Noble%20-%203%20gears%20medium.WMV

Never noticed how far the nose drops on lift off :_)

Clarky.

It's all called DINKE.

Dual Income, No Kids EVER!

What other people spend on kids, I spend on cars (an average child costs c. £200,000 during their 16 years in your care....)

Oh - and the fact that I started young (bit like pensions really

Clarkyboy said:I am just trying to quantify what this fledgling passion of mine will cost me. I'm assuming that running costs can be fairly high for a car such as the Noble and probably higher again for a Cerbera which sounds a little on the unreliable side. I have already resigned myself to high insurance. I have been on co. insurance for two years so I'm sure £1.5K will cover that. I think I'll opt for a s/h Cerbie for about £20K but I suppose I will need to be very careful on the condition of what I'm buying.
Full running costs are in my PH profile or on the web site (click on my name to the left of this to get the full details. As you'll see the running costs for my Noble are very very low so far.

Insurance is just over £1000 for me.

OOOOOh,now thats not very nice is it,the children are our future, who's going to look after you when your old,its different when its your own, your so selfish, child hater, you'll never know unconditional love......blah,blah,blah.
Well done for being individual and buying a fantastic car.The sound track from the engine could make me write the cheque now.Brilliant indeed.

Pawsmcgraw, feeling like Douglas Barder the amount of times i've been shot down for saying i'd rather blow money on cars, bikes and toys than sprogs.

Nah - I personally don't have any yearnings for sprogs - ever. However, lots of my friends have the little blighters - and so I still get to be the cool "uncle with the 4 cool cars"

But i do take your point that if i didnt have the 2 kids id be driving my dream car the lamborghini!!
Few more years and I'll be getting one (maybe the new baby one...)

Was it OK. I have a feeling my battery is a bit shagged - but I've got a battery conditioner now so it doesn't really matter.

Was driving through Chessington by chance the other day and stopped off at the TVR/Noble garage on the way and I was able to get a glimpse of the M12 and also a rather nice dark grey Cerbie alongside each other. Although the Cerbie has the bucket seats I can't really see an adult getting in the back. The M12 certainly grows on you. Does it have a boot ? Would golf clubs fit ? Shame they were closed for the day. Your words of wisdom are appreciated. I will forego the pleasures of natural parenthood and will indeed lok to bring up a host of well behaved cars I can be proud of instead.

No boot at all i'm afraid - though you can buy some bags that fit in cubby holes around the cabin. If you didn't have a passenger I'm sure you could squeeze a set of clubs in!

Noble, seem to doing very well; I wonder how the M12 is selling against the Esprit. The quality of the car is 1st class and it looks great.

I respect the choice to pick kids instead of cars, its what I intend to do.

Personal questions are a bit iffy on a forum but since it is being discussed.... Women like kids, on the whole, so.....does no kids = no women??

IMHO, I don't think this is relevant, and we should respect everyone's privacy.

It's relevant if he wants to talk about it and I am not invading his privacy.

Chosing not to have kids, local politics, jokes and who people met at the weekend has no relevance here but it is all discussed.

I was questioning the limitations of a subject that he brought up thats all.
