Don't tell me - Winter Olympics ?

Although we sponsor the GB winter olympic team I've actually gone to Courchevel. Had new snow Fri so can't wait to get on the slopes this morning

I love the Trois Vallee. Stayed in Meribel some years back and realy enjoyed it. We spent a lot of time above/around Courchevel and lunched there most days. Full of beautiful people if I remember correctly - so why are you there Just ?!

Just got back from La Plagne ... about 5 miles north of Courchevel. I'd guess conditions next week will be reasonable, and if you get a few more inches as fell on Thurs and Friday, then the higher pistes should be in pretty good nick. There's been very little snow in the last month and a lot of sun shine, but it has been pretty cold so the snow cannons have been in action. Base is getting very thin, lower pistes fairly icey, south facing slopes getting muddy. Doesn't bode at all well for the tail end of the season, but most pistes are still OK at the moment.

There are a few muddy runs, but the snow cannons seem to have been working overtime on at least half of the main runs which are still full of crunchy snow.

It's icy on some of the steeper runs where there isn't enough traffic to keep it soft, but that's just helping me improve my edges!

Cool! As you say, the conditions encourage better technique which in my case is A Good Thing.

They've managed to cover up quite a bit of the muddy stuff last night, and metcheck.com says we are in for another 10+cm over Wed/Thur.

Got an excellent Liverpudlian teacher from Magic in Motion who's slowly getting me to unlearn my bad techniques!

and I wish we had motorways like the ones in france when I looked at the 'average speed' trip on the X5

[P.S. It has to be said the X5 is the urber way to transport 4 people, 2 sets of skis and 1 weeks worth of luggage there and back - drove all the way there and back with me as the single driver and I don't feel any the worse compared to if I had been sitting at home all day]

I rekon the one place my Voyager is cool is whilst transporting 6 people and 6 snowboards to the alps, me driving and 5 sleeping.

Now that must be a comfortable car!

(insured 2 mates on it though, would not have fancied doing the lot!
