Starting probs 3R

Drove the noble in the garage after getting bach from brands
went to take her out today to clean as first oppertunity and guess what

WONT START engine turns over but will not fire up ??? anyone any ideas or suffered the same

It's possible that fuel has vapourised (bu66ered off!). Give it a few pumps of gas then try. If nothing after about 4-5 secs then foot flat on the floor for a few seconds. Be ready to let go of the loud pedal as it can spool up quite quickly. It's happened a few times to me...usually when it goes to bed on the hot/warm side. HTH.

Hi guys
tried that one kept turning over for 4 mins not evaen a cough
dont seem to be firing
at least 15 ltrs of fuel and a fully charged battery

Good luck with that - when mine did it the ecu had gone, but you could just have fuse problems

does it have a fuel cut off??

i believe most fords have one although i dont know if they fit it to the noble,if you want a hand you have my number,assuming of course that my assumption is correct and you actually have a ford engine in there!

Check your fuses, as it sounds like the ECU and/or fuel pump one have come adrift / failed.

Does the fuel pump whirr when you turn the ignition on? If not it's the fuse to that.

On the old 2.5l the fuses that are on the bulkhead above the rear of the engine used to be prone to working their way loose and causing the problem you describe. I haven't a clue where they are on 3Rs - perhaps some 3R owner can help you?

They are all in the passenger footwell, there is a board with a pull tag where your toes would be. Check all those fuses and retry.

Take a plug out and get a friend to turn it over to see if it is sparking, with the plug out see if any fuel comes out of the hole left by it?

It can only be a fuel or spark problem (short of no compression or no air getting in).

have tried all of the suggestions and still no luck

have called in the man from the AA and afteran hour

he could not find the problem

On a transporter tomorrow morning to mole valley

let them sort it ???????

Problem fixed

Wiring loom /ECU fault the loom had managed to seperate itself somewhere between the ecu and main loom (while the engine was hot it managed to keep running), when it was cold cold not get a live feed

the wiring loom was sent away for specialist repair was in a bit of a mess after shorting it self out

At th e end of the day all fixed and up and running ok

service ,wiring loom repair,rh window lifter,and a few strange noises all
sorted for £1500 not bad when you consider how exp these cars are
