Warranty Clarification from Noble
Discussion
For people that are interested, Lee Noble has issued a clarification for current and potential customers about the use of Noble M12s on non-competition track days.
I have spoken to Lee Noble about this issue this morning following communication between Lee and existing owners.
Lee is very aware of the interest in this issue after the EVO and Autocar articles, and felt that it would help to clarify Nobles exact position.
Noble have said that they will be issuing clear guidelines for using their cars on the track - which will form part of the warranty T&C's, and there is one small modification that needs to be done to ensure that the warranty is valid both on and off track. The letter says that *full* warranty cover will be provided on track assuming proper use within the guidelines and proper precautions and after the track day specific modification (road cars do not need this mod).
The modification has come about as a precautionary measure - two cars have had problems, but ~30 other cars (including one car that has done 12,000 miles only on the track - eeekkk!) haven't had any issues - but Noble wish to be safe rather than sorry and hence will be requiring this modification to ensure the warranty cover is available during track days. They should be commended for identifiy the issue and still providing cover after the modification
The bottom line seems to be that as long as you act sensibly Noble will honour their warranty. Many people will testify that Noble have gone to tracks to fix cars (at no charge), and they are keen to keep that high level of customer service. Lee also points out that so far they have never failed to fix any fault under warranty regardless of use so far. Issuing guidelines seems to be a really sensible way to go forward.
Top votes for Noble!
Now the question is why don't some other manufacturers follow the sensible route that Noble, Lotus, Subaru etc. are following?
I have the original in .TIF format as a fax - if people want the whole thing then please email me.
