Questions on the Noble M12 GTO 3R

Greetings to you all from Canada!! I'm so in love with the M12 in which I am seriously thinking of importing one into Canada. But before I do so, here's a question I will like to ask all you Noble owners. Since I haven't get a chance to see the car in real person, what is the size of the car in length wise? It will be best if you guys can tell me as compare to other cars..whether it's longer or shorter? Reason I'm asking this is because I had read one article here and they say the M12 is actually the size of a new Mini?? Is that true? Or compare to something the likes of 996, Ferrari 430..etc. Is the Noble longer than those? I'll actually assume the Noble will be much bigger and longer than the Mini? Furthermore, is getting in and out of the car as hard as..like the Elise? As for performance wise, I'm sure I had read enough and know that the car is so.......Fast!!! I guess, to me, more important is the looks of the M12. Just looking at the picture is enough to blow me away! I will say thank you to all of you in advance and really looking forward to some answers asap as I just really can't wait to join the family of Noble ownership! Cheers! Phil

Hi Phil,

If you go to www.noblecars.com and click on 'specifications/3R' you'll find a full set of dimensions, as well as all the data you could ask for.

In terms of importing the car, it's definitely worth e-mailing me (from my profile) before you start making any plans. Our car is not type approved for North America, which means that you will encounter major problems making it road legal in Canada. Go to our Stateside importer's website (www.1gracing.com) to see the process involved in getting the car legal for US road-use. You may also want to try the US Noble forum at www.nobleforums.com for more information. However, to my knowledge, there are no Nobles registered in Canada because of our cars' lack of compliance with your country's regs.

Hi Phil

The length of an M12 falls somewhere between an Elise and a 996. It's a fair bit longer than a new MINI, but surprising it's not as wide as a new MINI if you take into account the wing mirrors. It is of course a lot lower in height which gives the impression of a much wider vehicle.

I did all of these calculations to check one would fit in my garage, before deciding on an M12. Having owned an Elise, I can also tell you that a Noble is a lot easier to get in and out of than the little Lotus.

Oh well, i guess the Noble is a much shorter car as compare to the Ferrari 360 or the 430 then. I was originally thinking the Noble should be at least much longer and wider than the Elise. But in reality, does it look really small or short?

Don't get me wrong, the M12 is much longer and wider than an Elise, which is a very small car in itself. I also have a MINI Cooper S and the MINI positively dwarfed the little Lotus when parked side-by-side on my driveway. The MINI isn't exactly mini if you see what I mean.

I think I might have a photo of an M400 next to an Elise S2 and a Porsche 996, from the Tuner GP event held last year in the UK, which offers the best comparison. I'll try and dig it out later.

...so, Noble is around a foot longer but almost identical in other dimensions.

Yeah, I was surprised when I parked my Cooper S in the garage one time. Not only by the width, but sitting there in the garage it looked like it had been Photoshop'd up 50%!

Thanks James!! It will be great if you can find the photo. I'll certainly love to see them parked side by side. Think that will pretty much give me a good idea as to the size of the Noble.
