Anyone know the area around the Brands Thistle then ?
I may bow out to let someone else organise this one !!!

Must remember to keep MattFP (aka disco-ninja) away from the vodka or all hell may break loose !

Owen, there is a bar and resturant in the Thistle Hotel. As quite a few of us are staying there, maybe a good idea? Otherwise there are a few reasonable pubs within a few miles.

excellent ! - just wanted to let as many people a possible know.
Shall we say the bar in the hotel at 7.30 then ?
Do you think we'll need to book in advance for food. If so we'd better get a roll call for numbers.

What about going to a restaurant in the area? Must be something good around?

Anyone know if Martin is staying at the thistle too?

Let me know what you plan then. Andy Glover and I were thinking of popping over for drinks etc. Got a long day on Sat though, so not 100% I can make it.

Is that 7.30 a.m or p.m. Owen ?!!!

I live in Kent but don't know the 'Brands' area too well. Put me (x2) down for food mate whatever you decide but would probably be easier to eat at the Thistle if most are staying there.

Did you get sorted with an A3 printer?
If so will it be possible ( for an appropriate fee) to print off a couple of pics if i bring them on disc or memory stick.
Thanks
Paul

Right, just spoken to the hotel again, and have a faxed menu, the food is a bit more than pub type, 3 course is £24.50.
If people would like to go elsewhere there are a couple of places within a few miles, but parking not so good.
Menu is as follows, if the general view is too expensive, then let me know and i will cancel table.

ooOOOOoo
Cappuccino of leek and potato soup with garlic croutons
Tomato and mozzarella tart with rocked saladbasamic reduction Basil Pesto
Pan fried tender chicken slices, with garlic mayo and garnished with salad
Crayfish and Cod with baby spinach leaves, lemon Dijon Mustard dressing

oo0000oo
Oven roasted breast of chicken with mushroom volute rosemary mash and mangetouts and baby carrots

Pan-fried salmon fillet filled with creamed leeks, boiled new potatoes and champagne dill sauce

Sirloin steak served with herb butter, chips and salad

Plum tomato and goats chees gateau served with provincial tomato sauce

ooo000ooo
Triple choc mousse with vanilla cream and caramel sauce
lemon tart served with rasberry Coulis and cappuccino ice cream
Selection of cheese and biscuits with red grapes and celery
