Anyone tried M3 mirrors on a Noble

They look like they would fit and you can get them in carbon.

If you mean the ones that you can get in Halfords etc..they wont fit because they dont do a 'Noble' door mounting. Whilst the original mirrors are from a Rover, the door is not and so here lies the problem.

Have you seen the fake carbon versions - ewwww !!!

was thinking about good ones, i asumed you could remove the rover metal mount and fix to the plastic triangle in the glass.

I'd be more tempted with the mirrors Paul uses on his race car, I believe they have curved glass to give a large field of vison too, and I'd imagine reduce drag somewhat too.

Use those loads on rally cars etc... but they're not really big enough for road use IMO

Anything's doable but in reality you're going to have to bond them directly and be spot on first time or make a moulding of some description to attach to the triangle. Either way you're unliekly to ever be able to retro-fit the Rover items if that an issue for you.

Well in fact because they are convex they actually give a better view than the standard ones. Not what you'd expect but true and suprisingly welcome when racing! Only drawback for road use is they are fixed, well supposed to be, and if they get bumped or knocked its quite a palava re setting them.

And therefore from what I can see technically not legal for road use if you read those regs posted when you were asking if a car needed a rear view mirror.

Hi Paul,

Yes convex do give wider coverage but at the expense of making following vehicles appear further away than they really are. Thats why I wouldn't recommend them for road work.

Saw the Noblemods ones at Rockingham, they still sit on that metal arm, M3 or Testorossa style mirrors would look so much better, the problem with high mirrors mounted on the A piller is you would have to drill or bond to the car.

Thanks Dom I'm working on a new design of electrically adjusted mirrors at the moment too just to see what I can achieve.

Going to have to disagree on the M3 mirrors with you Adrian - they seem to be omnipresent on all the chav-wagons and for that very reason I wouldn't want them on myh Noble !!!

Loads of other great designs of mirrors are out there, the trick is getting them to fit on the Noble door without drilling more holes or making a mess that will cost you ££'s to get out of !

...oh and the metal arm on the noblemods ones is a different much smaller arm than supports the standard Rover mirrors - just thought I'd clarify that
