Anyone found a good solution for this. Quite a few of my passengers have started moaning that the Noble seats have a massive gap between the back of the seat and their head.

They moan about the strain on their neck when I accelerate. I 'spose its because they don't know it's coming , and they haven't got the wheel to grab onto .

I can see the point of the gap as you'll need the space for a crash helmet on a track - but I was wondering if there was a solution? At the moment they are sticking a fleece behind their head - but something more permanent would be useful.

How about one of those inflatable travel pillows?

Tried that - still not "large enough" - it's a big gap for my other half as he's quite short and sits quite upright.

Think fleece folded up into a footxfoot square (about a foot or so deep) and you'll get the idea of what I'm after...

Perhaps I'll just make up an alacantra "pillow" with a couple of elastic straps....

my GF has the same problem - the Sports seats in my Exige were much better and never had a problem with wearing helmets either.

Thought of that, then wondered what I would do when I find myself totally bladdered at 3:00am in the morning at a train station in the middle of nowhere after falling asleep....

Took about 2 microns to work that one out

I don't think there's a solution to this one. Your only course of action is to get a different car. Now obviously selling the Noble would break your heart, so in order to spare you that pain, I am prepared to look after it for you. To make an already hugely tempting offer even more unbeatable, I am prepared to offer you the use of an eight year old Subaru Legacy 4cam Turbo estate while I look after the M12.

Two litre turbocharged engine, four wheel drive for those slippery moments on wet Hampshire B-roads and, of particular interest to your partner, this car excels in the headrest department. Fully adjustable for both height and rake, you have four of them to choose from. Tempting isn't it.

Alternatively, you could try contacting the factory to see if they have a solution, but I'll be surprised if they make you an offer like mine.

Buy a small-ish cusion / pillow and get it covered to match the seats in the Noble...

Then, buy a thick band of elastic (as used in clothing) and sew / attach that to the pillow...

Then, this will enable you to have a little pillow that is held firmly to the seat without damaging it, and also is quick and easy to put on / take off.

On a similar vein to Podie, get some foam cut to measure by one of those firms that cut foam to measure () then have it covered to match the seats.

Do it well enough and you could make a nice little business selling them to other Noble users as well.

Podie's deluxe neck-saving head-cushion for the Noble M12 GTO...!

Knocked this up in Visio (very) quickly to illustrate my idea!

Nice pillow / cushion / foam thing, covered to match the seats (alcantara?) with a large thick strap of elastic to hold it in place!

More radical solution...

I cut cut the bottom off the seat to change the angle to be more upright.
It supports the back better as more of your spine is on the seat and you can rest your head on the headrest part of the chair.

Maybe pretty tricky as a retrofit though!

Alternativelly a set of Ultima Sports seats will fit.

Thanks for all the suggestions - I'll think I'll follow Podie's suggestion and fab drawing.

Whilst cutting the seat would suit Nick - don't think I brave enough for that......

Now - where *did* I put that sewing machine????

Thanks again.

Imelda,

Now - I would have jumped at the offer - but Podie's come up with a solution, so although your offer was fantastic, I'll have to decline.

Sorry.

Joust, glad to help! (if anyone needs an Ergonomist, then let me know!).

Rather than elastic, you could use those things you see on rucksacks, where they have a connector and then you can adjust the "belt" to give a tight fit (know what I mean?).

Ah - excellent idea. Out with the straps and pillows at the weekend (and then I might look at sorting this out )

Just had a quick nose on the net. You should be able to get those rucksack "belts" (think they're nylon webbing) from somewhere like Field & Trek... or get a belt made from the same stuff - as you'd see on a pair of outdoor trousers, like Craghoppers - again, Field & Trek (and similar) places should have these.

Imelda - think long term!

Make and sell enough of the damn things, and maybe we could afford one!

Then again...
