Hi all,

Took the lady (M12 GTO3) out yesterday for a first soft run after winter.
Was doing a steady 70mph on a motorway when all of a sudden the throttle pedal fell to the floor and the car could not be accelerated any more. Only way to move is to engage the clutch very carefully and then roll in turtle mode with idle throttle. AA guys brought me back home.

My first idea was throttle cable and in fact in the engine compartment, it now has signifcant play. But then, the pedal probably must have some kind of spring underneath, and shouldn‘t this keep the pedal up even if the cable breaks?

Thanks for your suggestions!
Need to do a bit of research and ideally order the right parts from UK before heading to the nearby workshop 😀

Thanks and have a great Sunday!

Update: it is definitely the throttle cable. It is broken at about 80cm length from the engine, just about before the cable goes towards the mid of the car along the rear turbo. Access to both ends is fairly good. What‘s the best way to route a new cable?

The front turbo has a tendency to melt the throttle cable, especially if you have a manifold leak.
The common and acceptable modification is to re-route the throttle cable down the driver's side side-pod.
Not too difficult to do.
Look back through this post from when I had this problem.
