Help needed! - my fuel gauge has been reading permanently full for about a year, as you need to remove the tank to change the sender unit I've taken the opportunity to change the tank (pro-alloy) and fitted a new sender unit - gauge still reads the same! With no power it slowly falls to empty but as soon as there's power it shoots immediately to completely full?

Probably the wire connected to the sender is shorting to earth somewhere along its route.
