Hi everyone.

Suspected big end problems on 3R and just wondering who is recommended for a full engine rebuild on a 3R.

Know Jetstream but anyone else?

Know some very competent mechanics so happy to have them remove the engine and refit and send of the main block off unless there are good reasons why I shouldn't.

Any rough estimates of costs appreciated too.

Thanks

Noble motorsport in Chesterfield also built my engine and it has been sweet and faultless ever since.

Thanks

Give Martin a call at Bespoke Performance in Hertfordshire,
There great to deal with, fairly priced , and Skip is a genius when it comes to Nobles, he looks after everything on my Noble,
And Martin is a diamond and nothing is ever a problem or to much trouble.

Thank you for the replies.

Any rough estimates at cost of full rebuild?

how long is a piece of string.. depends on the condition of your engine and the spec you want to go to..

Yeah I know its a silly question and open ended but i'm just being curious ahead of time of anyones experience with standard rebuild costs.

Quite happy to remove and refit engine myself for example and heard this can make the difference of around £1500.

Engine in out cost is around £1800 inc Vat. So if you do that yourself then that helps.

New upgraded Turbos are just over 2k. Gearbox worth strengthening also.

Thanks.

Gearbox has been to gearbox man for full strengthening and rebuild 500 miles ago. New clutch etc fitted and all done though Jetstream as well as it previous service history and updates so apart from this unfortunate need for a rebuild all other mods etc should be up to date.

big end problems usually mean at least rod and crank if you have done the usual and spun the end. are you always going to run standardish power... remember this is a slippery slope.. I was convinced I did not need to modify anything when I purchased mine..

I'm pretty sure going down the tuning route can be a slippery slope financially too!!

More then happy with the power of the car but if there are changes that are highly recommended for good reasons then of course I will look at them.

Thanks

Not sure, his name is Steve. I think he was with TVR Arkely/Giles Cooper in the past.
