I noticed this morning that only the off side exhaust plumed on start up. I didn't hang around to find out if the other pipe kicked in at some point post warm up. Does this sound normal & possibly to do with lamdas?

Mine does the same , always assumed it was caused by the different length exhaust pipes creating more condensation in the longer pipe .

Yeah that sounds very feasible to me.

I hadn't even considered something as simple as pipe length! I wonder how much longer the pipe is, only there is nothing at all visible from the shorter pipe.

It's pretty long mate if you consider it comes from the front turbo , around the sump then across the car !!
I'm assuming you do not have the std exhaust ?

Just the usual greyish colour. Nothing white or blue!
