The desirability of these cars seems to have really died recently, nothing seems to be moving at all. I've had sod all interest, not even one tyre kicker! Cars have been up for months!

Any views? They must be the most underated cars out there, nothing comes close for the money.

I'm a newbie bought mine two/three months ago but watched the market for some time. I've seen cars come and go over the last few months so the market is definitely out there.

I bought mine 9 months ago and prices were higher then.
Same for TVR Cerberas, I sold one of these 1 year ago and would probably get less today.

Brexit was a tipping point, not just for people paying in Euro but also prices in GBP dropped a bit.
Maybe a temporary effect... Generally speaking both cars are undervalued, especially in the eyes of people like us who know what they are.

I think you'll find the used car market has fallen off a cliff recently, mainly because people can rent new cars cheaper than they can buy used ones,

Undoubtedly true. I've been trying to sell a perfect mk2 Focus ST for weeks with zero interest. I've dropped the price to just a few 00s more than We-steal-any-car have offered, way below the Autotrader estimate, and still nothing.

I don't think lease deals affect Noble prices though - there ARE no new cars like M12s still being made.

Agreed Adrian - I'm thinking only temporary until some Brexit planning is announced. Of course our sector is different to that you describe biggrin

Anyone want to rent a Ferrari, Posche, AMG or Noble? getmecoat

Having watched Chimaera prices closely for the last 12 months I think part of the problem is owners and some dealers telling themselves the cars are worth more. I've actually seen other owners bully a seller who they considered had listed his car too cheap, thereby in their eyes affecting the value of their cars.

In reality keenly priced cars for the spec sell very quickly, some the same day and others are still for sale a year later

I meant to say before: I wouldn't worry too much about the noble market. In one of the pictures in my ST advert you can make out the back end of the noble in the garage behind. The only two calls I've had on the advert have been people asking if I was selling the nob as well.

I get what you are saying Adrian but a Noble is not the sort of car you might rent,

If you know who to ask you can rent anything at the moment, not sustainable though, you can rent cars for less than their depreciation, pure madness

well that's a depressing forum chat.

Surely this can be seasonal with Nobles? I for one wouldn't put mine up for sale now and if it was I would maybe think about next year, spring time as they are cars to use in good weather.

From looking at the Noble market place it's so much better then I can remember so fingers crossed it time of year.

I would be interested tho if a latter 3r, 6 speed, 3litre, more common colour like silver and more non flash interior ie black, well kept etc would hang around that long as other Nobles out there. People are picky in this niche market.

Just food for thought...

Taking the chat slightly in a different direction...

The mainstream used car market is flying at the moment, at the detriment to the new car market. Every manufacturer wants to increase their market share & so manufacturers are forcing dealers to pre-reg (self register) cars. These then get sold as nearly new cars at reduced prices.
A 20k car can easily be found for £14k on a forecourt with zero miles on it and registered 3 weeks ago.
This inflates the new car registrations and makes the media report record strong sales when actually the volumes are fake.

Anyway, this doesn't effect Nobles, they are a niche "Toy" market and are only effected by peoples willingness to spend their space cash. You have to remember the higher the price of a Noble gets, the smaller the market of buyers becomes. The market does peak and trough, I bought mine exactly a year ago and there were none for sale really. The right car at the right price will sell but there is probably only 1 Noble buyer in the market at any one time.

Enjoy them, drive them, tinker with them........shout at them !

I recently looked at the market with the thoughts of possibility getting back into my 4th Noble, not many good cars for sale TBH and guess the owners of the mint cars are hanging onto them .The odd good car seems to acquire a high premium and I just struggled with some of the age related issues and ergonomics for the prices being asked. If I bought anything it would have been the M400 with low miles but I cant exactly get my head around 60k for one.I guess the price shows the rarity and perceived value and that may well be the market but not for me right now as I prefer newer creature comforts.

Good point just guessing lower miles cars are generally less abused but not always the case !

The House and car market seems to of slowed, considerable over the last 3 months,
Brexit and the pound, has put a pause on these markets, I'm sure it will be A tempary one, spring next year, things will start to get back to normal,
Lotus have just brought the new Evora 410 Sport out 82k. Me thinks our cars are still the best there is for the money, in this range of car. The price will continue to rise, and the demand will become higher,
But like always? Disposable income and confidence play a big part especially in the car market.
The reason I mention the Evora? Is still uses a V6 supercharged, produces 410bhp. Performance is nowhere near as good as an M400, it's no more usable than an M400, and it's 82k? And will devalue, where as the M400 will rise.
If I was buying a M12 it would be now.
In the next few years you won't find any under 30k good ones 40k. M400 65k if you can find one, my predictions for 3 years time.
