Has anyone had any success in removing them ( do they unscrew or are they glued ?) or , does anyone know the best place to buy a new set before I start the job ? Thanks in advance for your help Nigel

i believe they get melted out if the wheels are dip-stripped. Otherwise, drill each one so there's just a small ring of plastic left to pick out?

As mentioned above... Take a drill bit the size of the Allen head that would go into that spot and start drilling. They snap out when the drill bit grabs. Takes a few seconds to due each one. I tried heating them so I could reuse them but had no luck.

Leave 'em off! They're a 29 x 4 pain! Every time you refurb they cause issues - plastic has to be melted off and if you'e replaced with metal studs the paint doesn't always flow around the top well so can look naff.

And anyway, when not leave them off - you can't even tell from 15 feet away idea

I have just refurbed my standard 3r wheels. I just turned the old bolts with an alan key which broke the glue'd seal. I got a replacement set from bespoke performance which were just bolts with the heads cut off of them. I glued the individual heads in (a few needed a small tap in). They look great and no issues so far.
